I read some bad reviews and I read some good ones so I really didn't know what to expect. We were 6 adults + 2 teenagers+ 3 children age 6-11.
The room was very simple . No shampoo . Tv very old fashioned. The room is very clean . Not a pampering room . Still adequate.
The swimming pools were great , the gardening in the resort is nice and well taken care of.
We got to the hotel at 9 am and we were told that we can have breakfast . Not obvious. We got there and meet with Georgio . A wonderful man who is in charge . Such a nice and warm man . Everything I have needed was taken care . We had 2 girls in the group who are with celiac. He immediately went and brought special bread and offered in dinner time gluten free pasta. It is not obvious to get this in a hotel .
The food is more than enough . You
Get great service as long as you respect them and the place .
It's nice to walk around in the evening. The wifi is really an issue but we found a spot that it was o.k .
We rented 3 cars for 2 days through Zakros . They were really o.k with us and helpful. Very honest local business. Would recommend them . We went to chania and the lake , to rethimnon, matala beach . The last day we took 4 Atv - huge fun !!!!! . We went to hersonissos and malia with them . Was great !!!!
Enjoy your visit ! I certainly enjoyed mine :)

We were 2 adults with a 9.5 month baby and we stayed 5 days early Sep. The hotel was nice though several things bagged us at first. We arrived in the evening and the room was FULL of mosquitoes. We were given this electric thingy which works with tablets but after coming back from dinner we still had many of them and we were told that we should get our own tablets. We asked for a kettle for baby food and were told that once they will have one available we'll get it - never did. It was annoying but we did get hot water in a thermos at the bar which worked fine for us. Overall the hotel was more or less clean and nice, in a pretty good condition (though not perfect), the pool was nice to hang around with the baby and food was various and good. The stuff was mostly nice and welcoming, excluding the guy at the pool par giving out towels which was rude and unpleasant. We did feel that we are missing the feeling of Greece there, and just the same could be anywhere else in the world.

Room Tip: *Consider the mosquitoes and be prepared! *Beach beds are charged seperately

Our party was composed of 2 families - 4 adults, 3 kids ages 3-5 and one infant. We stayed at Blue Sea for a week and had a great time. The main positive points are:
1. A pool, which was not very large, but large enough for kids to play around and for adults to hang out and play water polo.
2. The beach literally right across the road from the hotel. The sea was perfect - warm, clean, with very little waves.
3. The animation team, led by charismatic Alex, which completely charmed the kids. The guys also led sporting activities during the day (water polo, ping pong, water gym) and staged passable shows in the evenings.
4. The bar stops the all-inclusive service at 23:00, but it's possible to take a tray of drinks to your room and carry on.
5. The hotel is baby-friendly - there're ramps everywhere, lots of shade to park the stroller, quality baby cots in the rooms etc.
6. There's a terrific water park (named Aqua Plus) a 10 minute taxi ride away. Lots of slides, for all ages. But a trip there could be a bit pricey - a total of admission fee, transportation and lunch (which otherwise would've been included in the package) came to about 120 euros for a family.
The negative points (although massively outweighed by the positive, but still present):
1. While the animation team and the people at the reception were super friendly, some of the waiters and bartenders were rather rude, making faces at every request.
2. The rooms are smallish. Our 2 beds and cot took up almost all of the space in the room. The adults' bed had two mattresses instead of one king-size.
3. The a-la-carte restaurant was a disappointment. The food there was on the same level as in the buffet, and service - even worse. Belatedly, we understood that its purpose was to give the guests without kids a one night rest from all the noise, so by going there with the children we sorta ruined the evening for ourselves and the others.
4. There's absolutely nothing to do in the hotel's vicinity (except for the water park).
Bottom line - a great place for a family with small kids, could be boring for a company of adults.

Came back yesterday from five days in this amazing resort, overall, if you need a mediterenean vacation, that is the hotel to stay in. Located in Stalis between the towns of Malia and Hersonisos, each has a crazy center full of bars and discos. Stalis itself is quiet and this hotel is the best hotel in the neighbourhood. The rooms are beautifull and clean, we had a garden room ( we were three)for 4 nights and a regular room for a late checkout. Do not forget your own soap because the rooms have a liquid that pretends to be a soap but does not have a smell nor foam, but one euro worth soap from outside you solve the problem. The food is divine, the hotel is all inclusive and worth the money you pay, every day different food and god, so fresh and so good. Three pools and a pool bar that serves free drinks all day, the only and I mean only problem of this hotel is the man in charge of the pool bar that also gives pool towels to the guests, he is impolite, rude and should go to behaviour school to learn what service means, idf I am the hotel manager this guy would go home yesterday.
Reception staff are very nice and professional and I recomend this hotel with all of my heart.

I definitelly can say it is not a 5 star hotel, even on the room key they have now only 4 stars. Rooms are a bit worn, mirror covered with rust, bathroom not in a good shape and window curtains dirty. I would rate this hotel as 3+. Pool is divided in 2 parts, so it seems smaller, but it was enough for guests. Beach in front of the hotel is not the best as it is not cleaned from sea algaes, so we walked about 500m to find clean spot. But the beach is all sandy and quite wide. Food is ok, pancakes and omeletes for breakfast, wider range of fresh meat for dinner and lunch. So it was lovely holiday, but do not expect the real luxury at the hotel.

we booked the hotel using a local travel agency which i don't usually do, not before i checked the review's at tripadvisor.
well as we entered the room it was not a five stars hotel room. the floor was dirty the mirror was covered with black dots. instead of a double bad we had two bad's which had a lard crack in the middle so you couldn't even hug your partner without the bad begin to separate. the room was vary small. had a large crack at the wall. but that all doesn't bothered me until i discovered that the WiFi as promised, there was no reception anywhere and i was not able to contact home without him, we asked to change to better rooms even offered to pay extra but they did not agree.
after one bath all the sewer flooded the room. at the reception they couldn't even recommend me on a good place to go to.
the all included program ends at 23:00 something they don't bother to mention. the privet beach is not that privet and you have to pay for a bad 3 euro

Room Tip: ask for a room with a pool , gardens or sea view.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Blue Sea Village Resort and Spa for a week from the 4/09/13-11/09/13 and we have some very good and some not so good comments to make about the hotel.

The first night was terrible. We arrived at around 1am and were given our room, number 607. What we didn't know was that room 607 wasn't even in the actual hotel complex and was a set of 'apartments' further along the road. Whether it was because the hotel overbooked us or not, this was not acceptable. Despite it being our first time, and the fact we were a young couple, there was no reason why we should have been shoved into apartments that were more suited to a 3* hotel then a 'so-called' 5*. This hotel is not a 5* hotel, more of a 4*. My tip for holiday-makers travelling here would be to make sure when you arrive that you do not get a room beginning with 6.

Now that the bad is out the way, I would like to say how pleasant the actual hotel was, once we had finally been given a room in the complex. It is spacious, and more like a village than your conventional hotel. Each room lead outside and it is a lovely complex to walk around. The rooms were clean and relatively nice-sized, although one thing to point out is that no room in the hotel has double beds, which we requested. They all had twin-singles. Also something to note is that the WiFi signal is very bad outside of reception.

We had the all-inclusive package for our stay and it was okay. You have the buffet option for breakfast, lunch and dinner and, for one night only, you can dine at the a-la-carte restaurant. The only problem is that the a-la-carte was not a-la-carte and is actually a set menu with relatively little choice. This was not good for us, as my girlfriend has strict dietary requirements and couldn't eat any of the food because it was all pre-made. So we had to leave.

The buffet is okay, some days much nicer than others. I have never seen so many different types of salad. Breakfast was okay, not much variety but lunch and dinner were better. My girlfriend was fed up of having chicken with salad by the end of the holiday though. More variety was needed. This should not distract from the fact that the staff, especially the waiters, were tremendous. Always polite and friendly and tried to help out when possible.

The beach is lovely and when calm, the sea is pleasant. The hotel charges 3 euros per beach bed but our tip would be to walk along the beach road through the town as some areas offer deals that are cheaper. You get a very nice view of the sea from the restaurant and bar and the scenery is lovely. The location is perfect as its a minutes walk from the local shops and supermarkets. There are some nice bars and restaurants, especially Akti's and Maria's Golden Beach.

Overall we had a nice stay at this hotel, and apart from the first night the rest of the holiday was enjoyable.
