We were delighted to find the Seagull has moved over from the Sandy Beach side to the promenade side of town this year. We always loved going to the Seagull for lunch from the sandy beach, but now we're very happy as we can eat his lovely food in the evening and look at the wonderful view whilst we eat. His menu is varied and his specials change every day and are always interesting and diverse as well as very well cooked and tasty. The service is excellent and both the owner and the waitress are very friendly and helpful. We ate at the Seagull several times during our recent stay in Paleochora and were never disappointed in the food or the service there.

My wife and I have been going to the Seagull for about 13 years making special trips from the north of the island. We went for 2 reasons. The milk shakes and the burgers (not often do we have burgers but the Seagull's is a class apart). We now live in Crete and so we made our way to Paleochora only to discover the Seagull closed and deserted. A big blow and the reason for the journey gone. However a waitress from another taverna said it had moved from the west beach road to the east beach road. So off we trooped and towards the end of the row of tavernas facing the sea, sure enough, was The Seagull and Tasos the proprietor. He had moved as the lease was up on the west beach and, the too frequent a story.........the landlord was asking far too much to renew it hence the move 2 months back. The menu had changed and the location was smarter but whilst there were no milk shakes any more my wife and I enjoyed fresh orange juice, a great avocado salad, chips and a fantastic burger, freshly made with herbs including mint and THE best burger bun. We don't know about the rest of the menu although it looked pretty good but if you do go tell Tasos that Eleni sent you and have the burger - its just great!
