I adore staying at this hotel..the family are so friendly,I can go straight into the sea for a swim before breakfast and then have breakfast at the café

I have been coming here for 25 years and it really takes some beating. As well as the well appointed rooms, the family runs the café Vortsala just around the corner on the sea front where I can get a good breakfast, and downstairs is a seafront tavern where supper is to be had.
I can go straight into the sea in the early morning before breakfast as it is right on the doorstep and the family looks after your every need
I adore this place and I hope it never changes!

Room Tip: IT is best to choose a room near to the sea and overlooking the olive groves

I couldn't understand why Oriental Bay was not on any 'top ten' list for Paleochora restaurants until I found it listed under accommodation. I'm afraid I don't know what the rooms are like but the restaurant is lovely. They offer the traditional menu you might expect plus specials. The service is always excellent - they didn't even grimace too much when our son covered the place in pasta. I love that they automatically give you a little home made cake and raki with the bill. Also, they are the only place we found on our last trip to still serve fava which is one of our favourite dishes.

Oriental Bay Hotel is situated slightly away from the main town, which is good as it can get noisy in the town (village) - it is situated on the sea front.
It is a short and very pleasant walk by the sea into the main part of Paleochora with its tavernas and restaurants -
Room was just fine - typical of Greece - no complaints at all..... Hosts were friendly, but low key, and the Hotel itself didn't really have the feel of a hotel i,e there was no real 'reception area' to speak of, we just knocked on the door of the owners who looked after us....

In short - well positioned and good value accommodation

We used Paleochora as a stop off for our trip to other south coast villages...it was ideal....the town has two beaches - when we were there the west beach (sandy) was quite windy - the east beach (pebbly) was sheltered - The Oriental Bay is on the sheltered side of town....

Room Tip: We were in Room 1 - Good view to the side of the sea.... no complaints

My husband and I go quite often to Paleochora for holidays and the place we usually stay was full, so we decided for oriental bay. We had been there before for lunch and dinner, and really loved their food, but never at the hotel, and we were also so happy to have chosen this place for staying. The owners (sorry I don't remember their names) were fantastic. The room and the whole place was spotless clean and quiet. The lady would spoil us with sweet goodies she'd make herself, like cakes and cookies, and we really appreciated the fresh water we were offered at our arrival. There is a coffee/tea machine in the room, and if I recall well there was also an iron. They serve breakfast at the bar/restaurant.
We are certainly staying here on our next trip to Paleochora!

Stayed two nights in high season August at Oriental Bay. Wished we had stayed longer. In the whole month that we travelled the Greek islands, we never stayed in another hotel that had the same level of cleanliness, access, view, size, and amenites for the price we paid. Really, we could have stayed the whole month here and it would have been great. Too bad we listened to Lonley Planet and switched hotels in Paleohora. Oriental Bay is all that anyone would want (unless it's sandy beach you want---it's on the rocky beach side).

We arranged a room in hotel vostro, but when we came the guy gave us a room in oriental bay. I guess he owned both or they had close relation both hotels. Anyway, it did not make a difference for us. Room was small but clean and air conditioned. It is right near the cool stone beach. Price was only 35 for a double room. If you go there don't forget to try the restaurant of oriental beach either.
