We had an enjoyable and relaxing two weeks in La Maou Brustiade. It is well located just outside the quiet but pretty town of Trets which has some good supermarkets on the edge and a few restaurants and cafes in the heart of the town. It is a very good base for exploring further afield to the many historic towns and villages in this part of Provence and the amazing countryside, plus Marseilles and the coast are easily accessible by car (although we went by train into Marseilles to avoid city driving).
The gite is well equipped and was clean when we arrived. The kitchen has most things you would need for self catering and the outdoor area is great when the weather is good. My only small criticism is that the gite is advertised as being suitable for four people. There were four of us for half the time we were there and we felt that it was not quite designed to take four comfortably. For instance, there is only one two/three seat sofa and no other comfortable seating in the lounge area. We ended up using dining chairs, which aren't quite so good for relaxing in. If the gite is to cater for four adults then two more armchairs or another sofa would be useful. The second bedroom is a bit small for two adults without much storage space (nowhere to hang clothes).
Apart from this I would recommend the gite for either just two adults or a family of two adults with two small children.
