“Great place to stay that is close to Utah beach and other D-Day history.”
Reviewed April 8, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Lovely small cottage - ideal for 2 people. Close to Utah beach and very convenient for other D-Day sights and memorials. Owners live next door and are very helpful and knowledgeable having been 10 years in the area. Log burner to keep us warm on the cool March nights and electric heaters throughout, Lots of hot water with a great shower en-suite to the bedrooom. Modern Kitchen is 4 hob gas (Calor) and oven - also fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine.

“Beautiful stay”
Reviewed July 10, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here for just 3 nights to watch a stage of the Tour de France.
Steve and Rosemary were so nice, very friendly nothing too much trouble and interesting to chat to.
The property has been renovated beautifully, comfortable all you could need - cooker, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker but most importantly corkscrew ! Lounge was lovely and comfortable, nice seating outside when the side decided to join us! was almost a shame to go out !!
Surrounding area is also lovely, the Tour was incredible quite a spectacle. Saint Marie du Mont has some very nice cafe / restaurants to chill out in.
The whole are is ideal for both the DDay memorials but also to simply chill out and relax.
Would we recommend to anyone else?
YYEEESSSS !!!!
We certainly plan to return

We have recently stayed in Le Marronier and had a wonderful holiday. We arrived feeling very stressed out and left feeling wonderful....we were almost horizontal !!!

Rosemary and Steve were perfect hosts and their gite was perfect. The bed was so comfortable that we did not surface until at least 9 am....unheard for us!!

We were so lucky with the weather and we had the added bonus of being able to eat every meal outside.

Within easy travelling distance are Utah Beach museum, St,Mere Eglise, , Sr Vaast la Hogue, Barfleur and Le Vast...all worth a visit !!

Given the opportunity put Le Marronier on your wish list.

“Refreshing break in a lovely rural setting”

the accommodation was very comfortable & easily found following the directions from the owners who welcomed us on arrival. The cottage was very handy for the beach but also if you had an interest in D Day landings only a 5 minute drive away. Plenty of museums locally about 2nd WW. Lots of lovely French Villages around as well as beaches. would advise travelling to Cherbourg as Calais is about 5 - 6 hour journey. Steve & Rosemary were very hospitable & very willing to advise on activities around the area including places to eat.

“Almost a home from home”

This is an superb, spacious conversion, in the hamlet of Le Grand Chemin and only
four miles from the attractive village - church, shops, restaurants and D Day sites - of St Marie du Mont. The kitchen is large enough to eat in; the bedroom is excellent and the front room is large and comfortable.

The situation is ideal for those wanting to take in some of the D Day places. You can follow the trails in St Marie due Mont and Utah Beach is only four miles away but, for example, Bayeux for the Tapestry and Arromanches are within easy reach but do not miss the eccentric and informative Chateau de Donville, sign-posted on the way to nearby Carentan).

Rosemary and Steve Mulley, the owners, live in the adjoining cottage and could not be more helpful - more like neighbours for new arrivals than owners.
