The hotel was very clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and do speak English pretty well (better than my French). The room was large and it was very clean. The bathroom has a hair dryer. The breakfast each morning (9 euros per person) has plenty of items, from sweet to savory. The croissants ( plain/butter & chocolate) were excellent....and there is cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, quiche, ham and crepes, as well as coffee, tea and juice. The secure, gated parking lot is behind the hotel (you will take a road a short distance away to get there after you drop off your luggage.....and then you go to an elevator from the parking area to enter the hotel). That worked out well. The hotel has free internet...you just need to sign in and create your own password. The location is convenient to visiting all the sites in the Normandy area. There are a number of good restaurants a short walk from the hotel (across a bridge)....an easy walk (no hills). If you have seen the movie "The Longest Day", one of the battle scenes (Casino) was filmed here (but it was of a battle in Ouistreham)...so not accurate, but it is interesting to see the scene....many things are easily recognized from the village, to include the stone tower. Above the stone tower, are the remains of German trenches....a long zig zag stretch. So, there is much to see and do here in this nice fishing village as well as the area in general. Ibis is a great place to stay while in the coastal area.

A very conveniently located hotel in the busy fishing port of Port en Bessin. Very comfortable room at the front of the hotel where we could watch the fishing boats come and go from the harbour. The breakfast is very good value. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are several restaurants withi walking distance.

Great location in the centre of town near the fishing ports and boats. Safe parking. Clean and spacious rooms. Bar and breakfast area very good, on average a little expensive for an overnight stay..Very helpful and friendly staff. WIFI service was great and worked freely.

Good hotel right in the centre of Port-en-Bessin. This is a fishing town and opposite the hotel, the boats prepare their nets for fishing and can be seen leaving in the evening. Secure gated free parking behind the hotel. This hotel is ideal for touring around the D-day landing beaches and museums and is within easy strolling distance, 10 minutes, to many restaurants the other side of the waterway The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and are of the usual basic accommodation of the Ibis/Accor hotels. Breakfast is available which is self service and has a selection of pastries, yoghurts, fruit, bread, jams and coffee/tea facilities for 9 Euros, which is good value.

My partner and I stayed for just one night in September during our drive through France and were extremely pleased with all aspects of the hotel.

The receptionist was lovely, very very friendly, professional and helpful and we were always met with a smile when we came through reception.

The rooms were pristine, spotless and of the usual Ibis layout and decor with everything you need, including a hair dryer in the bathroom (which also included a great shower).

We were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony which looks out on to the harbour and from where you can watch the numerous fishing boats coming in and out - would highly recommend one of the harbour facing rooms. There was no undue noise however despite this and we both had a great night's sleep.

The car park is situated behind the hotel and is secured by security gates however you can park for a short time right at the front while you check in and unload bags which is very helpful. There is also a short path which leads directly from the car park to the back of the hotel so it is all very convenient.

Breakfast was the usual mix of breads/cereals/fruit etc with the added yumminess of fresh crepes and other little extras.

All in all, a great hotel in a really pretty location - highly recommended!!
