This is a Hotel and Restaurant in a nice setting close to the Seine. We went for the 3 course evening menu 24.5 Euro, with house wine around 4 Euro per glass. The duck breast was very good. Generally all portions were large, nice decor, pleasant service, would recommend

This hidden gem of a hotel and restaurant is on the banks of a beautiful part of the Seine, on the side of an Allo Allo type village which used to be Rommel's headquarters during WW2. Staff here are friendly and accommodating, and the food in the restaurant ranges from good (sometimes with a few shortcomings like over-salted cod or too much dressing on the salad) to exquisite (where everything in the dish is perfect and highly imaginative). We have been to the restaurant many times. A few tips to improve your stay. If you want the view of the river, request that when booking; but be prepared for a bit of evening noise before and just after the restaurant closes. Rooms facing the hills at the back are quieter. The rooms are very nice and comfortable but lack a few hotel extras like complimentary coffee/teas and hairdryers. (The view and location make up for it.) Prices are quite reasonable, and less than most places in Giverny just up the road. In the past, we have had internet connection problems, but on this trip the internet was fully reliable. Some young people do come to the river here to fraternise on the riverbank, but on the four or five times we have actually stayed here, rather than just eaten at the restaurant, they have not been a problem. The restaurant can be very popular with the French, so it is advisable to reserve a table.

We found this hotel online before our first trip to France in 2004. We stayed then and we stayed on our second trip more recently. It's location is perfect. We visit this area to see Monet's Garden and it's only about 6 easy kilometres from Giverny. Online it said La Roche Guyon was one of the prettiest villages in France. We were intrigued by the troglodytes up the hill which were being turned into artisan workshops. Made a very interesting walk especially in the morning mists. The restaurant served the most memorable local dishes. I still dream about the duck. We have eaten there twice. The hostess was scary to us, but the food was dreamy. The sunset on the Seine in this spot is spectacular. Next time we visit France, we'll stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Seine and you can't go wrong.

We stayed for one saturday night with our 3 yrs old son with us. Dinner at the restaurant was very good, hotel room was charming, staff was nice. But there were bunch of drunk young people hanging around during the late night in the parking right in front of the hotel. They made loud music from thier cars , kind of night club type of music with deep heavy bass sounds until in the morning. Also they started to fight each other in the early morning. We all had the terrible night sleep . It is not the hotel.s faults bit it totally put us off. We would come back for restaurant but we will not stay over the night in this hotel in the future. It is a shame that this kind of environmental problem degrade the hotel.s review even the problem was not made by hotel itself.

We came here for a relaxing weekend away from Paris and stayed in one of the bigger rooms overlooking the Seine. The bed was comfortable and had crisp, clean linen and the bathroom was basic but spacious. It was exactly what we wanted.
We especially loved the restaurant downstairs - we went there on our first night because it was late and we were tired from our journey but ended up going back on our second night too. The food was delicious, nicely presented and served in copious amounts! Our favourites included the homemade cheeseburger, the lyonnaise sausage with its warm potato salad and wonderful profiteroles covered in rich chocolate and chantilly cream. Great value for money: 25€ for starter, main course & dessert, with plenty of choice. Staff was also friendly and attentive; one of the waiters even asked if we were OK when a nearby table of German tourists got very noisy.
We loved our stay here and will definitely come again.
