Excellent pool with various functions. The massage functions pools can completely replace traditional massage. If you want you can use a variety of massages and treatments offered at the spa. We used the steam room, ice room / salt lake ice, ice bucket and ice chips / Finnish sauna, adventure shower with the following features: London fog, Siberian storm and Tropical. Do not miss Dr. Kneipp path, and finally complete the program with a relaxation room with fireplace and relaxing music.
Staff is very nice and smiling. Even the reception you will find that await you only good experiences.

Based on other reviews on TA we booked a few days to “check it out”. We were so impressed with this property that we extended our stay to 7 days (the maximum we had open). The rooms are fresh, spacious, clean, comfortable, and with all of the amenities you would expect. Some have very nice private balconies. The rooms are very nice and functional, but not “exceptional”. What IS exceptional is the spa facilities and the quality of the kitchen and staff. The food is of exceptional quality and with a lot of variety, even for a vegan. Breakfast eggs are cooked to order and the evening meal was more than I could even sample. BTW, the house wine, while an unusual blend, was quite drinkable and reasonably priced. The hotel staff, both wait staff and front office staff, are extremely helpful and courteous. I had no difficulty using English only. The spa facilities are truly unique and fully equipped. We spent about 3 hours every day of our visit in the hot mineral water pool and spa facilities (no extra or hidden charges). Velingrad is surrounded by forests with wonderful and well marked hiking trails. Something to do other than shopping in the center. We will gladly return to Aquatonik for another “exceptional” visit.

Room Tip: The private balconies are nice.

True concierge service, customer care and absolute cleaness! The property was the perfect place for us for a second time and it has even better vs. last year. The high standards are met on every level - the spa can be only compared to properties like Hyat and Mandarin (but better), the therapist was extremely professional and gifted, the staff is very helpful and polite. We would highly recommend to everyone to visit this hotel because it deserves its stars and it has an unique european feel (which is very unusual for bg). See the pics we took on our iphone - real reflection of the experiance! Thank you and you will see us again!

1. They don't have room service all night .
2. They don't serve coffee or anything else before 8.00 am
3. Flies , flies anywhere !
4. Nobody speak English outside of Reseption.
5. Wi-Fi crash down every 2 minutes in the room , and is not available in entire room! Also , every time you must re-enter passwords and hotel name , every time you connect !
After all , 3 stars was perfect for this expensive hotel . No more !

We were in the hotel in june 2010.Velingrad itself is a wonderful pitoresque town, surrounded by water and forest.Nobody recomended us this particular hotel, we picked it out of the many hotels in town, just because we don,t want hotels in center of town, and the most important it was relatively new built. The spa is excellent, you can use it in a circle , example you start with your lower body, legs and fingers and you finish with the strog flash of water for your neck.I remember how relaxing it was: on the big flat LCD screen in the pool area we watched footbal games since it was a period for world football cup, and enjoying ourselves in water. In the middle of the pool there is groto with almost original hot water 43 degrees, after which the water in pool seems so cold:)))We tried all the services in spa: steambath sauna with aroma and light effects, infrared sauna, roman bath, massage, free doctor check up,ice cold saunaetc. In my oppinion maybe, just maybe pool size is little smaller because when locals rush in weekends can be overcrowded.Rooms are nice and cozy, with towels and bathrobes, and clean towels at pool as much as you want. There was a very polite and nice pool boy there i can not remember his name, he said he moved to live in Velingrad from Sofia because the life there was noisy and stressful.Hygiene was impeccable, there wasnt variety of food because the hotel was almost empty in working days so they offered the choise from menu list, don,t get me wrong, you cannot stay hungry, there was a choise between different kind of meat, but in weekend they served food in buffet style, so we really eat meals from the plenty of choice. This was minor munus. You can rent byke to wander in the neighbourhoods, you can make a walk by the natural lake near , we bought yammy homemade marmalades from forest berries. The hotel is outside town, 1-2 km from center and if you are fit enough you can walk or you can go by bus or byke...The town is deserted, young people looking for better life went to work in rest of Europe so there were only older people and there were signs on houses which said"On sale".Since we are from Macedonia we used the road in poor condition from Petric and Bansko, on return we used the way through Borovets and it wasnot also so well maintained but in better condition than the first mentioned, but the nature..It was worth it.All things considered we will definetely go back, it is like small family runned hotel with its own charm

Room Tip: Rooms facing the hill opposite the entrance are quieter

Forget about Bansko's silly spas with their luke-warm, grubby hot tubs and stone-cold saunas. A couple of hours away you will find some of the best spas in the country. Velingrad is justifiably billed as the "spa capital of the Balkans".
This hotel did not disappoint. The pool circuit (free to hotel guests or BGN 25/day) was incredibly well-designed with underwater treadmills, jets for foot and body massage, various pools and jacuzzis and an outdoor hot tub.
In the spa area (also free to guest or included in the day pass) there were Roman baths, a Dr. Knipe's walk, an infra-red and normal sauna, an ice room, a relaxation room with an open fire and, oddly, a shower with international weather settings including "London fog" and "Siberian storm" along with sound effects.
We paid for spa massage and beauty treatments, all of which were professionally executed and well worth the money (around BGN 60/50 minutes depending on the treatment).
The hotel dinner (included in the cost of some spa packages) is worth taking. A buffet format with a wide range of dishes, it was better than anything on offer outside at a similar price.
I loved this spa and would definitely go back. After 2 days I felt like I'd had a week's holiday. However, besides spas there is little to recommend dreary Velingrad. We took a freezing walk by the lake (probably nicer in summer) and ate at a terrible restaurant before retreating into our spa wonderland.
