This is our third trip to this hotel and it seems to get better each year.
The food was varied and excellent and the service is first class.
There was no smoking in the lounge this year which made it much more comfortable to sit in there after dinner.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a relaxing place to return to after an active days in the mountains.
The location for walking is ideal as the cable car is just outside the front door!

A cosy little family run situated very near the centre of idylic Neustift im Stubaital.
The rooms are well equipped, spacious, clean with a great veiw of the Apls.
Great service from the very friendly staff.
In walking distance from the most happeing bar (with its own micro brewery) in all of Stubaital, as well as plenty of skishops, and restaurants.
Not too far to the glacier by car.

This is a friendly family run hotel in a beautiful location in the Stubai valley. For a summer holiday it is ideal for a multitude of walks and sightseeing.
The spa area provides a welcome end to a strenuous day of walking in the mountains and puts you in the mood for the tasty 5 course dinner served in typical Austrian dress.
The only downside we found, was the amount of smoking which took place around the bar area stopping anyone sitting there who cannot tolerate smoke. As the bar area is small and there is not a non smoking area it means you either have to go out or spend the evening in your room.

This is a good looking hotel on the edge of the village right next to the Cable Car. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. We had paid a little extra for a larger sized room and a balcony which one would therefore expect to come with a view. How shocked we were then to see our window looked straight onto a blank wall! However we had a shared terrace that we could use but to actually get to a view you would have to have sat in front of somebody else's window which is not acceptable. The problem would appear to be that they acquired the next door hotel and joined them together by building a link and this terrace was the roof of this link. A balcony existed, technically, but not in practice as it was two steps down to the terrace.

We complained to the receptionist who appeared to be prepared for a complaint as she immediately countered by saying that we did have a balcony. We persisted and compromised by agreeing to stay in that room one night and move to a different room for the rest of our stay. Although she was very sweet and friendy, she must be aware that the room is no longer appropriate for people who are staying for a week and have paid for a better room. The room was 102 and the only one that looked to be in an equally bad, or even worse, position was, appropriately, Room 101. The second room that we stayed in was a vast improvement but the fact that we weren't able to unpack for over 24 hours was a problem that shouldn't have happened.

The dining room is fitted out beautifully, as is the rest of the hotel, and the evening meals are varied and generally very good. The evening waitress seemed to have a bit of a problem at first with people but it seemed that it might have been down to language as she was also having problems with Swedish guests later on. She did improve during the week however.

The morning waitress was a very friendly lady and the breakfast was quite good, although we sometimes wondered if the rolls were as fresh as they generally are in Austria. The owner, or son of the owner, often served in the dining room on staff days off and was a very charming man who was ready to help when needed.

I know there were a number of British guests who were returning to this hotel, sometimes after a few previous stays, so maybe we were just unlucky. However, overall we don't think that we would choose to come back to this hotel if we stayed in this area again.

My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the hotel and had a great time.

The owner collected us from the airport for a small fee and was a very nice chap.

We both enjoyed the food immensely. The evening meal is 5 courses and even if you don't want every course, you will be full having 3 or 4.

The staff were all smiley and friendly and made you feel very welcome.

The pool was very clean and a decent size. Plus we enjoyed the sauna. It would have been even better if there had been a jacuzzi/whirl pool.

The room was a great size and had a separate wc to the bathroom which is a nice touch. Beds were comfortable. The door out to the balcony was a bit gammy but we got the hang of it.

In terms of location, it's only 30 mins from the airport which is great. There are a number of eateries close by and the ski lift is about 50 metres walk. That is a limited ski area (although the sledging there is awesome) though so we tended to get the bus to the glacier. It is fine if you get a seat but a rather trecherous ride if not!

There was free internet which was an added bonus.

All in all, a fab break.

We stayed at this hotel in Febuary this year and had a fantasic time, we arrived on the sunday afternoon and were picked up by a taxt which the hotel had arranged for us. Once we arrived at the hote we were impressed with traditional design of the hotel. The decor was exactly what you'd expect from an Austrian hotel.

I was over the moon when we arrived and saw that there was a gondola directly across the road from the hotel, and the ski bus stop was in the hotel's carpark. On the 1st day we decided to head up to the glacier skiing area instead of the local elfer area, the bus ride did take about 25 minutes and got very crowded at the peak times.

What was the most impressive about the Berghof is the hotels leisure facilities, the pool is gorgeous and the saunas are stunning, even though they are naked ones. I found it daunting to go into the saunas but it was a very relaxed and you were under not pressure to go naked.

The food was some of the best food ive ever had while on holiday, we always had the same table reserved for us every evening and had exceptional service. There were very small downsides, one being the price of the drinks were quite high, but really what you'd expect from a hotel of this standard, and the location in relation to the glacier, the Elfer lift is OK, but you couldnt spend the day skiing here, when i was there, there wasnt enough snow to open their runs right down to resort level, it meant that the only run open was a red run, which was do-able in about 2 or 3 minutes. If the longer run down to the resort was open, then im sure that i would have enjoyed skiing here more.

But all in all, fantasic hotel and would certainly return here numerous times again.
