I went to taco taco for lunch both days in Santa Elena. The first day I was hungry after 5 hrs of travel that morning. Had the yukatan tacos. Yum. Next day I had been hiking all morning in the cloud forest and went back with some people I met on the hike. I tried the small burrito, also good, but not as good as the first days tacos, and we split a quesadilla. Quesadilla was only okay, and one of my fellow guest had the flautas and seemed to like them. Main guy seemed friendly, place was very laid back, just outside the main hostel in "downtown" Santa Elena. Seating was mostly out doors, but you could take your food into the hostel if the outside was full. In summary, a taco stand with tasty food. FYI food items run 2-3000c.

Went to taco taco for lunch and got the Baja veggie (fried avocado taco) and pork/pineapple taco. Both were so amazing we all had to come back the next day! They make specialy coleslaw for each type of taco that is so amazing!
The next day the four of us went back and stood in line with other people that have already eaten there too (seriously you will have to go back). They were unfortunitly out of the pork/pineapple so we got fish taco and the shredded beef...both were just as good! These tacos were seriously the best tacos I have even had... You need to go!
What's also great is you can get a beer at the hostel next door for pretty cheap!

Awesome food and the slushy drinks are really fresh and tasty too. Great vibes and nice workers, all for a decent price. Go there!

Had two of their veggie tacos and could have eaten 10 more. Great flavor for a great price. Small stand where you can eat at a community table netx to some folks who create wonderful jewellry. Eat here if you have the chance.

Taco Taco is a neat specialty taco vendor located next to a lively hostel (Pension Santa Elena) in central monteverde. It is just a window - no formal seating or waiting area (but there is ample seating at the neighbouring hostel), where you order your tacos or burritos. We ate there twice in two days as the tacos were fantastic and the service was quick and the atmosphere was very relaxed (and a great place to meet fellow travellors). Our hands down favorite taco was the Baja fish taco (tempura whitefish, vegetables and the perfect sauce). We also try the slow cooked pork and the yucutan (beef and pineapple). All were unique, flavorful and addictive!
A great spot near a lively hostel where you can try some unique and delicious specialty tacos/burritos for relatively cheap. To my knowledge, Taco Taco does not sell cervezas (although i could be wrong) - but no worries, the Pension hostel next door sells liter bottles of pilsner/imperial. Try the Baja, you won't be disappointed!
