I wish we had eaten here both of the nights we were in Monteverde as this place was very surprising. The waiter was very attentive and helpful and suggested we were should sit given that a couple tours were coming in and whether it would be breezy. The food was well priced and very tastey! Serving sizes were large and bread was provided. The set up is more fancy and the atmosphere is cosy and quiet. Big picture windows provide a great view of outside. Great place to eat!

We ran down the hill from our Rustic Lodge room on a rainy night to the bright interior of Bistro Bon Appetit.  The restaurant could be in any big city, but here it is at the bend of a rocky dirt road a short walk from the Rustic Lodge.  Tables are set with brightly colored napkins and mood lighting.  The building is like an octagon with windows on all sides giving a bright, airy feel.  Our host was a handsome Tico dressed in shirt and tie.  Our salad of arugula, lettuce and green olives was lightly dressed and seasoned with just the right amount of salt -- perfecto! I had the tenderloin, a steak cooked to perfection with sautéed  vegetables like cauliflower, carrots and string beans.  The potatoes were large, home made fries with a crunchy texture on the outside and  perfectly-cooked potatoe on the inside, quite unlike any potato fry I've  had and so yummy.  Out host was helpful and went out of his way to get the weather report for us for the following days trip to Lake Arenal.  My husband had spaghetti octopus with a tasty red sauce.  The previous day we came for lunch but were cut short when our tour van arrived.  The staff were very accommodating, quickly preparing our lunch to go and even pouring our drink into a paper cup so we could take it with us.  The vegetarian sandwich with tuna had good flavor and was served on a large roll, enough for two lunches.  The ham and cheese was served on a large roll and both orders came with tasty French fries.  Bon Appetite satisfies in every way -- food, atmosphere, friendliness, and service.  Highly recommended.

We ate here several times as it was very close to the Rustic Lodge where we were staying. The food and service were great, we were surprised how few customers they had and thought maybe it was because they were a little bit out of town. There were several people drop in to get take out pizzas while we were there.

we went here after a whole day of travel and zip lining activity. After a long tired day We were so thrilled to find this place which was near the Santa Elena downtown close to the sky trek activity. We had a veggie pizza , veggie casada and chicken with rice. All the dishes were very tasty. The fried plantain was really delicious. Our waiter was very friendly & fluent with english, helped us decipher the costa rican menu ( part of which was in spanish). The place was very clean. the food was reasonably priced. It is set a little away from the hustle of the downtown making it very calm and relaxing.
