“Good food for an average price”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This restaurant offers good food, mainly western style. Service was fast and friendly. The price was rather high, taking into account of what you get.

“Very good food at a nice restaurant”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Our taxi driver overhead us discussing where we should go for lunch and gave high praise to this place. We realized he might be a friend or relative of the owner but decided to take the chance and were glad we did.

The restaurant is centrally located in the business section of Santa Elena and occupies the second floor near the bakery. The service was nice and we appreciated the comfortable atmosphere.

Between the two of us, we enjoyed their superb fish ceviche and a tasty steak casado. We probably had 6 or 7 ceviches during our 2-week Costa Rica visit, and this one was tied for the best. The casado also was very good, although the steak was thin and a little tough (like most under-aged steaks in Costa Rica). For $19, including taxes and tip, it was a very good lunch.

“Unexpectedly good food in small family restaurant”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Went to this restaurant for dinner with a group of people. We had lunch here another day. This upstairs restaurant was a pleasant surprise -- some of the best food we had in Costa Rica. We had many experiences of dry, overcooked beef, fish and pork at "nice" restaurants in CR. The food here was much better prepared. The Filet Mignon was amazingly good for the price -- a huge piece of tasty beef that was undercooked by US standards, but they were totally fine with fixing that. Soups were good. Prices were very reasonable. A fun experience with decent food -- there were no complaints here.

“The bakery below has quite a variety”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

We did not eat at the restaurant, but stopped in the bakery for breakfast items. Fresh bread out of the oven, cookies, pastries, and various empanadas, with meat, veggies, and fruits are for sale. You could buy breakfast items, and with the empanadas you could have an inexpensive lunches well. Frequented by the locals, we did our shopping here.
