Let me start by saying that we chose the 2-story house, which is unique at this property. This was clearly a case of lots of unrealized potential. The location is great, the staff helpful, and the breakfast ($7each) was more than fairly priced and one of the best we had. However, the beds left you with the impression that you stopped at someone's house for the night, not like you were in a hotel with nice clean, matching sheets. Several places in the house were not cleaned, like the kitchen cabinets and where the mismatched glasses are stored. There was dust on the shelves in that particular cabinet, and even a broken glass shelf. The 2nd floor is made from a single layer of wood, which is plenty strong, but also very loud downstairs when someone walks on it. There was a 3-week old New York Times among the reading materials left behind. In summary, a little work and investment would turn this into a place that would make travelers used to something better than a hostel feel much more comfortable.

We found this gem on a world hostel site. It was a wonderful stay that we would have extended, given the time. Beautiful cabins, clean and spacious and hosted by working farmers in the Monte Verde area of Rain Forest attractions. The owner/operator was as eager to practice his English as he was to help gringos practice their Spanish language skills. We had views of the ocean and the forest. Breakfast was provided for an additional nominal fee...lots of fresh fruit.

We really enjoyed are 3 night stay in room #10. We had a view of the water from are private patio.
There is a small pool right out in front of our room. The room was clean, small refrigerator, coffee maker, great shower. We had a Dan and a/c.

We also took the boat tour and saw the dolphins. We tried water boarding.
