Owner description: While staying in Monteverde don’t miss the Sky Tram that will lead you up to the Continental Divide and to one of the highest mountains in the area. Sky Tram is a guided tour where you can have the opportunity to observe the cloud forest outstanding biodiversity, the majestic Arenal Volcano and the Nicoya Gulf. The Sky Trek’s zip lines go from mountain to mountain, allowing you fly through a cable at speeds up to 40 miles per hour and heights of over 520 feet. There are also 5 observation towers that surpass the cloud forest treetops, providing amazing panoramic views our company has a braking system that was superior to what I'd experienced in other places. The zip linesthemselvesare long and fast, when the clouds cleared, we were able to see the ocean, which was amazing. It is a really great experience.

I did not do the ziplines, but saw them in use from the Sky Tram, which is reached by a pleasant walk from reception across a long, high hanging bridge. The Sky Tram provides stunning views in every direction, including down into the valley and the cloud forest. There is a good nature trail to and from the Sky Tram departure point.

I went with my 9 year old daughter, and we had fun despite the rain and cold. The guides were attentive and quick to help out folks who got stuck in the middle.

Good, clean and safe operation.

My sister and I did the Sky Trek and Tram ziplining tour in December during the holidays and had great fun! This is highly professional operation, very safe and with fun, knowledgeable and friendly staff. On our tour there were about 20 other people of all ages and backgrounds. We had pensioners all the way to elementary school kids - all of whom did well in the skies!! The ziplining was definitely our high point of the experience (no pun intended), but the canopy bridge walk was also very good and informative - I would recommend this, especially if you have not booked any other rainforest / cloud forest guided walk yet! Be prepared for cold, windy weather at the top though!! And - in case you have trouble with climing stairs, note that there are dozens of steps up for each of the zipline course launch points - so be prepared to climb.

Good: spectacular location and views. No need to brake; they have a mechanism for that.
Bad: No orientation for beginners. On a cold, rainy, foggy day, there was no warning that we were going to ascend and it would get much colder (which it did; bring layers!!). At the very top of the mountain (one gets there after a brief 50-meter 1st zipline), one ascends a 5-level structure and waits to get started. The wind was howling and it was frigidly cold, and raining horizontally. We had no indication that anyone was actually in charge of making/communicating decisions like "this is too dangerous, so we are shutting it down" or "we know it looks scary but this is safe, dont worry"). Also, our group had over 30 people, so the wait between rides was very very long. This could be a much better experience with some communication and polish. They certainly charge a lot!

We appreciate your visit, apologize if our staff did not explain well about the zip lines heights, winds and cold that exposed one, monteverde is characterized by a fairly cold climate, we have designed structures to rise and admire the forest with 100% secure. anyway will improve communication with our guests to avoid such inconveniences

We first took the nature hike on the hanging bridges which I would highly recommend. Our guide was very informative and spoke impeccable English. We went with our two teenage kids who were very excited about the zip line. My husband and I were more tentative but we did it and were glad we did. The crew were all great and guided everyone to confidently zip across. I would highly recommend checking the weather in the cloud forest beforehand. We were not dressed properly and it's very cold so high up. We would have been better off with more rain gear. I would recommend wearing long, rain resistant pants, rain jacket and boots. All in all a once in a lifetime experience.
