“Excellent Service!”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Camino Verde is a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in Monte Verde. Jose, one of the hardest workers there is amazing. He's great for recommendations on Zip-lining, hiking, ad anything else you could ask for. He even went and bought our bus tickets for us the morning before we wanted to leave! Definitely got some great vibes from Camino Verde! :)

Monteverde is an amazing place to visit and staying at Camino Verde you feel like being home. Jose was so helpful, in general all ticos are so nice. The place is clean and just 5 minutes walking from the center.
We would love to stay a couple of days more cause we booked just 2 nights. We took the night tur at the forest and it was cool but the bests part for us was the rappel.
Totally recomend Camino Verde B&B

My boyfriend and I stayed at Camino Verde for 3 days while visitting Costa Rica. This bed and breakfast is amazing! Jose and Andreas are great hosts and made booking and planning adventures in Monteverde super affordable and easy.
While there, we did a tour guide in the cloud rainforest and saw all sorts of birds and animals (sloths, toucans, tarantulas to name a few). The guide we had was super friendly and knowledgeable (wish we remembered his name) We also did a zip lining tour which was breathtaking and the Don Juan coffee tour!

Every morning before our adventures and enjoying the fresh breakfast made daily in the common room!! The food was fresh and delicious and was a great start to our day.
There are "sodas" (local restaurants) all around the hostel so yummy typical Costa Rican food is super easy to get to; it was fairly cheap too. You can also just walk 10 mins to get to the local supermarket if you wanted to make your own food in the kitchen. You can even buy cheap wine and alcohol there which we did not hate :)

I highly HIGHLY recommend staying here for your trip if you want an affordable stay filled with adventures. For our second part of the trip we went to Parador Resort in Manuel Antonio. While it was super fancy and beautiful there, I was thankful that I had the chance to experience a less touristy version of Costa Rica in Monteverde. And we could not have had a better stay than at Camino Verde!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel from the very beginning! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the rooms are nice and clean with a great view, and the service is phantastic. Jose (one of the managers) arranged everything from pick up to different tours for us and was a great source of information!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here a little more than a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had already read reviews online about Jose, so we were excited to meet him and see how helpful he was! He lived up to the expectations, he was very helpful and kind and also had a really laid back attitude which we enjoyed.
Our room was small, cosey and clean and worked very well for us. They had nice areas to chill and talk to others who were also staying at camino verde. The breakfast was also great, there was 4 choices and the pancakes were delicious!
We enjoyed this hostel mainly because of the brilliant service and how relaxing it was. We would definitely recommend and say it is perfect for people who want a calm accomadation rather than a party hostel.

We booked this in advance of our trip and were looking forward to our stay. We showed up at noon and were told our room wasn't ready yet although check in is at noon. We paid for our room, got changed and headed out for the cloud forest. Never once did the owner say anything to us about not being on the main property. After a nice, long hike, we came back soaked, tired and hungry. Once we checked in, the owner took us down the street to another hotel that isn't connected with his lovely hotel. Hotel Noma (or something like that). The room was musty, dirty and actually... filthy. Mold covering the walls in the bathroom, dead moths on the floor, alive moths flying around in the bathroom. The tiny room was nothing like what we were shown on line or what we reserved. At this point we were so tired and soaked we just wanted to shower. So that we did and set off for town. We came across another hotel that we had dinner at and loved it so we booked a room there instead. For the same price we got a room that was ten times better.

After reading all the great review on tripadvisor, two friends and my fiancee and I excitedly booked our reservation online for two rooms and two nights at Camino Verde. When we arrived at the B&B we were told that the owner was "having dinner" and would be back in 15 minutes to check us in. It was dinner time, so we figured, okay, no problem. After 15 minutes of waiting on the street (which was not in the nicest area of town to begin with), we then tried to check in again. This time, we were taken across the road to what appeared to be another hotel. The gentlemen at the desk said that these rooms were part of the Camino Verde. As soon as we walked into the rooms we knew something was not right - not only were they dirty and smelly, but one of them even had what appeared to be blood in several spots on the floor. We walked around a bit more and noticed a sign below on the main floor - "Hotel Atardecer". After realizing this was not the Camino Verde we had read about, we confronted the staff who tried to tell us that the rooms were "indeed clean" and that they were part of Camino Verde. The desk staff tried to tell us that we could stay in the "other rooms" for the second night, but we had already seen enough at that point. We left the B&B after this and found lodging elsewhere, as what was provided to us was clearly not what we had booked. It appears as though the initial delay upon our arrival had been to set up the swap - it was total scam.
