“Definitely recommend staying here :)”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

This was definitely the best place my sister and I stayed at throughout Costa Rica. We stayed at one other place in Santa Elena previous to Camino Verde and it was not so pleasant due to bugs and sanitary reasons so upon our arrival to the B&B we were taken back by how nice and clean it was. Not only was it extremely nice and clean but fits travelers' budgets as well. The value is great! Jose was super nice, very helpful and accomodating. He's knowledgeable about all sorts of activities and helps you book them. The rooms were good sized and the beds were comfortable and clean. Unlike most hostels, you actual get a bed that doesn't sink in the middle and blankets instead of just a sheet! Also there are no bugs! The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was super delicious! There were two kitchens to do your own cooking which was nice because we basically had one of them to ourselves. The location was good, just a short two minute walk to the grocery store and the rest of town. Definitely would recommend and we would stay there again if we go back!

If you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well...quaint place to stay in Santa Elena then this is a must stay B&B. The staff here are unrivaled - Jose is the most incredibly knowledgable host who can tell you everything from bus times and locations, to activities and excellent restaurants (and if you're lucky he might even give you a personal tour of the local hot spots!)
Breakfast is always included and very tasty, which is a bonus if you're getting up early to fill a packed day of advenutre. You'll find the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean.
We had a wonderful stay and would definately recommend that you take a few evenings to stay at the Camino Verde.
Note: when you look at the location on a map it appears to be a bit of a distance from the main city area, however, it is only about a 5 minute walk which means that you're guaranteed a restful sleep as well as convenient access to anything you want to do in Santa Elena.

Thanks for everything Jose!!

On a recent trip to Costa Rica we spent three nights at Camino Verde B&B in Santa Elena...from the outset we found the staff to be very helpful and were offered a free ride from town to the B&B, were shown to our room and allowed to relax before checking in and later were given a wealth of information about local attractions and tours by Jose, our host.

The B&B has a relaxed atmosphere, the breakfast was great, and Jose helped to arrange tours for us...he seemed to always be on hand to help, night and day!

On our honeymoon through Costa Rica, Monteverde was one of our first locations to visit. On the internet we already found several good reviews of this bed and breakfast, and although some might argue it is merely a hostel for youngsters, we can only say that it is a very nice place to stay, with very friendly staff (always ready to help!), delicious breakfasts and decent rooms. If you are looking for a nice place to stay and open to meet other travellers from over the whole globe, this is just the place to be!

Room Tip: We stayed in a separate room with private bathroom, which was not very luxurious, yet decent and cle...

Camino Verde's staff was friendly and the room was beyond our expectations ! Breakfast was very good and generous. The price is more than reasonable, 15$ for a private room with private bathroom. Beside the canopy tour, there's not much to do in Monteverde. Two nights is enough !

Great place to relax and perfect to start for all kinds of tours. We booked our tours straight from the hotel even though we only did so about half an hour before it started. But no problem. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was good and fresh. Great view from the lounge over the valley. The price is ok for what you get. I'd definitely go there again.
