“The location and the facilities were unbelievably wonderful”

Upon landing in San Jose, Monteverde was the first stop on a vacation of a lifetime. Although the bus ride to Monteverde was long and primarily on unpaved roads it created a greater sense of adventure that we were looking for. After such a trek, the assistance we found at Tina's Casitas could not have been more beneficial! Jose, the manager we had the most contact with, suggested a wide variety of activities and restaurants in the area as well aided in figuring out subsequent bus schedules. The room was spacious and clean and had a hotel room feel at a hostel price. We would STRONGLY recommend this place to anyone traveling to Monteverde!

Easily the best accommodation for the price, Tina's Casitas/Camino Verde offers comfortable, clean rooms, a friendly atmosphere and a great breakfast. The manager, Jose Retana, is friendly, knowledgable, and provided an exceptional level of hospitality that made Tina's Casitas stand out in my mind as one of the highlights of my trip. Have I said enough about the breakfast because it's fantastic!

It's a pretty cool place to stay in Santa Elena, Monteverde. At first, the manager gives you a map with all the info you need to enjoy Motneverde: Canopy tours, hanging bridges, horseback riding, etc. That really helped me to take advantage of my time there.
The breakfast is really good and the rooms are nice, quite small, but very clean.
Excellent place to stay in Monteverde!! You won't regret...

Definitely a "no-frills" place, but Tina's Casitas is a great deal. 2 of us stayed there in a private room for $20 a night, including a huge breakfast. Jose was super helpful in helping us book and plan for the 3 nights we were there. The shared bathrooms were clean and the water was hot. If you are looking to save money while you are in Monteverde, consider staying here! Our room was just 2 beds, but we didn't mind as we were always out checking out the sights!

I was recommended Tina´s Cosita´s from a hostel I stayed at in San Jose as a cheap but private place to stay at while visiting Monteverde. Jose the bilingual receptionist never stopped helping me the entire time I was there be it booking canopy tours, cloud forest treks, recommending local sodas that are delicious and thrifty, as well as help booking accomodations for my next stop in Montezuma. You couldn´t ask for better service! The room I stayed in was very clean and simple with just a bed a corner shelf and a window. The cabins are just a couple minute walk from the main strip of Santa Elena, which gives you access to amenities if you need them, but also a bit of seclusion from the crazy tourist crowds that cram the streets during the day. My only issues were the noise from a couple cars driving down the path next to the cabins during the night and the mosquitos that are impossible to keep out of your room. Otherwise it is a great deal for a low price.

We´ve had a great stay at Tina´s Casitas. The cabin we stayed in was charming and clean. The friendly staff gave very good advice about the best tours we could book in Monteverde. Both the canopy and the hike in Santa Helena Cloud forest turned out te be really good. Furthermore: Nice breakfast, fast laundry service and good location!

There was a representative of the bed and breakfast who met us at the bus stop to lead us the short walk to Tinas Casitas. We were able to get a very nice private room on short notice along with an amazing complimentary breakfast for a GREAT price. They had several options for breakfast and made it to order, definitely not a skimpy breakfast like we found at other places we stayed along our trip; fresh fruit, pancakes, toast, eggs, coffee, and juice were all offered. Its located near the main street (and grocery store which was great with the complimentary group kitchen as we were on a budget). However it felt very private even though it was close to everything. The service was AMAZING; the owner helped us with everything! He helped from planning what to do in the area (horse back riding, zip-lining, cloud forest tours, etc) to planning and buying tickets for us to get to our next destination. The staff was so helpful, very friendly, and were bilingual. It was a great experience.
