I just realized I forgot to add my review for our stay in August 2016...
Hotel la Tranquilildad was the perfect location to end our amazing vacation in Costa Rica. The place is secluded and requires a 10 min drive on gravel road from Parrita. We stayed there for 5 nights with our 4 kids. We stayed in two family rooms and prepared delicious meals in the open kitchen. We practically had the place to ourselve. Denis, the land keeper was amazing - helped us with anything we needed, showed us around and took us boating in the mangrove.
The pool was perfect - clean and clear. The ocean is connected directly - true beach front. Beautiful sunsets, long walks with no other tourists.

Paradise. Don't miss it!

My sister and I stayed here initially because we were not able to find any lodging in Manuel Antonio. The grounds were beautiful. We had an ocean view room and we were able to enjoy our view from the balcony. The room was very basic. There was a refrigerator, stovetop burner, dishes and pots and pans. However, we used the shared outdoor covered kitchen. If you don't have a car, it is a good idea to bring your food. There is no restaurant at the hotel. Victor and Marina who run the hotel provided great service. We had to call Victor at around 11:30 pm to fix our shower. He was very prompt in fixing it and also replaced light bulbs. There are hammocks placed throughout the property. There is also a swimming pool, a pool table and darts. Barbecue pits are also located on the property. The beach is very nice with deep black sand. The sunsets are beautiful. Victor offered to get our return bus tickets for us and Marina gave us a ride to the bus stop for a very reasonable price. The hotel is quiet and the beach is very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to going back.

Room Tip: I am not sure how many of the rooms have an ocean view. It's probably best to request one.

Very basic accommodation with no restaurant facilities. That being said, if you are willing to drive over a very rough road for about 7 miles, the beach you get to say at is breath taking.

We arrived after dark and questioned if we were in the right place as we seemed to drive forever to find the hotel. There were very few signs so just keep going as it does exist. Be sure to bring any food you will want with you as you really don't want to have to go back to the nearest town to shop!

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The room is basic with no amenities but the peace and tranquility make up for it.

This hotel was such a great choice for our family. We rented the larger house and could keep an eye on our 4 boys but still have our separate room. Having a kitchen made breakfasts and some late dinner very convenient. Comfort is basic but the house was clean and functional. Towels and beach towels were provided and the house was cleaned every day. If your life is too busy and you are looking for an exotic and quiet location, this is it! The property and its beautiful gardens are located on a peninsula between mangrove and ocean. We enjoyed an occasional coffee we prepared in the commune kitchen while the boys were playing in the pool. Nobody on the beautiful beach...just you, the waves and if you are good to them....the dogs :)
Okay, this is the best part, Marina and Denis are wonderful and made us feel at home. They really cared about making our stay comfortable and memorable and helped us pick the right activities with the right tour and all of that at the best price. (4 kids, imagine!!) We found ourselves going to see them with a couple of questions and still be there an hour later sharing coffee, wine and stories. At the end, we made some wonderful friends and the boys miss... yes, the dogs!

This hotel is such a great choice for your visit to Costa Rica! The location is fantastic for an isolated stay in which you can experience the true beauty of Costa Rica, as well as the people that run the hotel, who will provide you with anything you may need, and will connect you to the most amazing tours, hikes, zip lines, boat rides, and restaurants. I will recommend Hotel La Tranquilidad to all of my friends and family for sure.
