“Very peaceful and relaxing”

My wife and I live in Costa Rica and have visited the Cabinas Tranquilidad either four or five times. I like to do a little fishing and my wife likes to just relax. The grounds pools and cabinas are are well kept in top condition and the service is great. The owners are very pleasant and helping. We have also taken my wife's children and grand children and they loved it..

Took a group of 20- mission trip. We had a fabulous time. Great place, beautiful and very well kept up. Owners are fabulous, even loaned us their personal baby pack and play for the little one on our trip.
The place is very secluded and makes you feel like you are in a real private environment, even with your own private beach.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to travel and get a real taste of Costa Rica.

My stay at the Cabinas la Tranquilidad was my most enjoyable time in Costa Rica. The cabinas were spacious and nicely decorated, the grounds were very well kept with a variety of plants and trees (including coconuts!), and the staff was very friendly, hospitable, and hardworking. The setting of the Cabinas is what really sets it apart however. On one side is the estruary, in which the Cabinas groundsman Jose will take guests on authentic Costa Rican fishing tours. There is also an opportunity in the estruary to see a vast array of wildlife such as monkeys and birds, along with many types of trees. The other side of the island faces out to the Pacific and includes a large and beautiful black sand beach. This beach was great for surfing, body bording, swimming, tanning, or simply lying in the hammock reading beneath the coconut trees. The sunsets were magnificent. The location, in addition to the beach and estruary, is close enough to the town of Parrita to enjoy any of the dozens of restuarants, make a quick run to the market, or perhaps stroll down the streets and enjoy the cultural sights. There are also sights to see within an hour's driving distance of the Cabinas which are well worth the time such as a hike to see a waterfall in the area and a couple different canopy tours. Bottome line: if you are going anywhere near Parrita to stay for the night, the Cabinas are the place to stay.

Cabinas la Tranquilidad is the perfect name for this property! A great place to relax with the ocean right by your side. The location is good because not only is it secluded, it is also very convenient to many of the popular sites in that part of Costa Rica. The owners are very nice and more then happy to help set up activities for thier visitors .

My husband and I spent a week at Cabinas La Tranquilidad. The property manager was excellent at helping us fine eco-tourist attractions in the area and advising which restaurants we should try. He organized a horseback ride through the mountains with a family that owns a farm. We ate with the family and had a great time seeing the animals. After our ride, the owner asked us if we would like some fresh papaya. Papaya trees have a very flxible trunk and the fruit is only at the top. The farm owner shook a papaya tree in the front yard and Brendan caught it like a foot ball. It was the first time we had ever really tasted fresh ripe papaya and it was wonderful! No one should ever starve in Costa Rica. There is fruit falling off the trees everywhere.

The house keeper , Sadie, is a wonderful young woman who loves to meet people she can speak English with. She keeps the rooms very clean and the linens fresh.

The grounds of Tranquilidad are well laid out and nicely landscaped. The pool is always clean and refreshing and the beach is very private.

We stayed in the house instead of one of the cabinas. The glassed in front porch was wonderful for visiting with friends late into the night. Having your own kitchen is a huge benefit also.

This is a great place to stay to just spend time on the beach and relax without having an overplanned vacation where everyday has an agenda.

Have a relaxing vacation!

I have Traveled to Costa Rica many times, but this was a first for my son and my nephew. We had a great experience staying at Cabinas la Tranquilidad. It is on a very nice beach. I liked the location; close enough to the bigger tourist places without the crime or noise. You can see Quepos from the beach hammocks looking to the southeast. The ocean water was perfect temperature for swimming and the fish were biting too. We caught fish in sound (they call it an estuary), mostly small to medium sized fish including several red snappers, then we caught a nice sized snook (they call it roballo). Brendan (the hotel manager/host) set up a deep sea fishing trip on a brand new 35 foot boat out of Quepos that was just awesome. Not only did we catch some nice wahoo and tuna, but we got to see humpback whales. Not sure which was more exciting. One of those Whales was easily longer than our boat. The other staff were also very friendly. Jose not only keeps the pools and flowers looking good, but he took us fishing on the little boat they have there. He took the boys early in the morning to catch sand shrimp for bait which was a more unique experience than the fishing. He uses a little home made suction device made out of plastic pipe to suck them out of the holes in the sand at mid-tide, then we went fishing around the high tide. We saw white face monkeys in the mangrove trees next to one of the spots we were fishing. Brendan also set up a nice Zipline tour for us at Sky Mountain; wow what a rush and incredible views to the ocean and a nice waterfall too. The maid Seidy (sp?) is also very friendly and she speaks quite a bit of english. She kept the rooms clean and always brightened everyones day with her constant smiles. The think the boys always hated to watch Seidy drive off on ther motorcycle each afternoon. This is great place to stay. I hope we can return.
