We travelled from San Jose to Clandestino where we stayed for 3 nights. Interbus Online is a shuttle service which picks you up at your hotel in San Jose and drops you off at Parrita ( fare is $47 per person). Takes about three hours. From Parrita it is a short taxi ride to Clandestino for 14 U.S.
We arrived at sunset on a saturday night to find that there was a wedding being held at the resort. The wedding pictures had just been taken, guests were getting their drinks, DJs were playing great music, and appertisers were being passed around by the waiters. While we were busy checking in, the owner of the resort, Diane, apologized for not informing us about the wedding. However, she did check with the family of the bride and we were invited to join in the festivities - free drinks and food!!! It was a great party and we were in bed by 10:00 pm. The party went on till 2:00 am but we had a great sleep.
We were in room 13 which has a king size bed, comfortable chairs and desk and can be best described as five star! Fabulous bathroom with a great rain shower. Just outside the room is a sitting area with 'swing' chairs and white, sheer curtains which give you plenty of privacy.
Great swimming pool with warm water and a small waterfall. The beach is only a few step away where one can walk for miles. The resort has a restaurant and bar. Breakfast is served each morning and is open all day for lunch and dinner. Many people from the neighbourhood come to eat there and the food was excellent. Entrees were priced from $10-15 U.S. Nathan and Edward, two young men, working in the restaurant always provided excellent service with a smile.
A great place to relax for a few days!
