The drive from Jaco beach to Hotel Paraiso was an adventure. We were very thankful it was not the rainy season.
The young woman at the reception was adorable, her English was as bad as my Spanish but we did pretty well communicating that we were there for a hike and lunch.
She suggested we only do the short 1 hours tour not the waterfall so that we would be back in time for lunch.
The trail was overgrown and not hiking friendly. Think of Romancing the Stone movie and the trek through the jungle - a machete would have come in handy.
The animal sanctuary was tired - we can only hope the animals were well cared for.
There were more butterflies outside than in the conservatory.
The lunch was 3 courses for $18.00 - the food was average.
Service was excellent, the mango juice served with lunch was amazing.
The place looked tired and needs some loving.More
