We chose this hotel as we had an early departure the following morning. It was a good modern clean hotel very convenient to the terminal as it is linked by walkway and located a five minute walk. It was great to have a refreshing swim in the hotel pool and we ate some good food in the bar.

Only cons were that check in was very busy and slow & hence a long wait plus the directional signage from the terminal could have been better. Also paying for wifi??

We had prebooked & paid online so it was, all in all, good value and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The Novotel Suvarnabhumi is connected to both the airport link (to the skytrain and underground) and to the airport by an underground airconditioned walkway, hence it is very close. However, they still have a van to take you to and from the hotel very quickly.
The hotel is very nice, the lobby is and enormous space. Of note, they have an different policy regarding checking in and out as they are at the airport and people come at odd times. They seem to let people stay 24 hours regardless of check in time for 1 day payment (which is very helpful if you check in late at night or early in the am). The hotel price is high for the area, but the quality and location is hard to beat.

This was my second stay here; both times have been an overnight stop en-route to Europe.

Second time around, this hotel is showing its age and perhaps a sense that it doesn't have to try too hard? Service is generally slow, at check-in and check-out and in the Square restaurant - during our dinner, there seemed to be a single member of staff micro-managing a group of very junior team members. This let to a number of missed orders, mistakes and general slowness.

The bedroom was very comfortable but we were put opposite a set of lifts - noisy; checking next morning that the occupancy was low overnight, this is very disappointing.

There was also some confusion with internet access included/not included in the room rate, which was not handled particularly magnanimously.

The breakfast buffet was rather messy and a bit of a hotch-potch of American, Central European and Far-Eastern dishes, ok but not gourmet...

All in all, if you don't have the time to go into downtown Bangkok, this place serves a useful purpose - beds are comfortable, and showers are good and they have a free shuttle to the airport, but the slow customer service, very average restaurant (The Square) and lack of free wifi just start to highlight that maybe other hotels have passed this place by?

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from a lift shaft...

Best pick out of the airport hotels. We chose the business club option and it was worth it. Compared to the last time we stayed there, the rooms are much better quality on the club floor. The executive club itself is scraping by and needs an upgrade. They advertised afternoon tea which was literally a coffee and two biscuits. I think they need to stop advertising afternoon tea and just say coffee/tea available all day.

The swimming pool at this hotel is extremely cold and has always been like that. They seriously need to look at heating it somehow. Its a beatiful pool and outdoor area but a quick dip is the most anyone can tolerate the coldness for. Too cold for my child who I thought would swim under any conditions but apparently no!

I chose the Novotel on the basis that it is right inside the airport complex as we had a stupidly early departure the next morning.

The hotel is absolutely fine and our room was very comfortable for our short overnight stay (interestingly, they rent rooms by "the 24 hours" rather than "overnight" - a curious concept. The Novotel building is constructed as a large square and the lobby elevators do appear to only be on one side which can mean a long walk.

A word of "caution" however for those travelers intending to check into an ongoing flight from Bangkpok airport using this hotel:-

- DO take the hotel shuttle bus (it's free and leaves every 15 minutes) as this will take you straight to the departures level of the airport where you will need to be.

- DON'T think that the airport building is an easy 5 minute walk from the hotel (it looks it from the map....). You have to cross 25m of dusty grassed area separating 2 roadways in front of the hotel, you then have to walk through the lower part of the multi-storey car park cross another road and then get into the airport building at ground level. Not at all great if you are pulling a suitcase etc.

- YES you can walk along the underground tunnel between the hotel and the lower floor of the airport terminal, but it too, seems a long walk via the metro access points and it STILL only gets you to the lower floors of the airport.

- PROBLEM is, when you get into the ground level of the airport - is that the ONLY way up to the departures level (4?) is by one relatively small elevator since all of the "up" walkways are cordoned off by police and only airport officials and employees are permitted to use them going up!! The elevator is naturally hugely in demand by everyone trying to get upstairs - a real nightmare!!

So, all in all, since we really HAD to use he hotel shuttle anyway we actually could have stayed at one of the several other local hotels outside the airport, probably cheaper and just as convenient in the final analysis.

One final "plus" to mention - the hotel has a delightful spa and massage facility which, despite a pretty steep cost (even with special offers), was an absolute pleasure to indulge in at the end of our long day.

Room Tip: Probably ask for one not too far from the one bank of elevators that serves all floors. There is ano...

I spent just 1 1/2 Days prior to my departure. Just to relax after one week stay in Chonburi (close to Pattaya). Hotel service and food was excellent. Staff was making sure that you go to the flight on time. Checking in and out was smooth. Fully worth for money spent.

d) breakfast that starts at 3 a.m.!
