We stayed here for a few hours between our flight back from Koh Samui and our flight back to London just after midnight. It was very reasonable to book a room for a night and we decided that it was definitely worth it than hanging about the airport.

The hotel runs a shuttle bus service from the airport, and it only takes about 5 minutes.

The hotel is large. It has this vast reception atrium. It is massive, and it looks like a large percentage of the bedrooms face into the atrium.

The bedrooms were fine. The king size bed was massive. There was a working desk, with pay for Internet access, and a great bathroom, which has a glass panel into the bedroom.

There are many options for eating and drinking.

Overall, we felt the hotel was slightly strange. In terms of layout and the way they did things. But it was perfect as a hotel stopover, especially as it is very inexpensive.

When we were at the airport, we were greeted by two staff which helped us moved our bags into the hotel’s courtesy shuttle.

I was “wowed” when we arrived at the entrance. The lobby was huge! There was a bar on left, a Thai, a Chinese and one other restaurant on the right.

We arrived around midnight, so check-in was quick. Staffs are very friendly. There was a lot of security staff all the times.

The room was so modern. You have to insert the room keys in the wall in order for the electricity to operate. The king bed that we got was huge! The bathroom had a window overlooking the bedroom area. The bathroom had a standing shower and a bath tub.

I was very impressed with value that I paid for and the courtesy of the staff. Even though this is an airport hotel, they had a lot of amenities that I was not expecting such as a 24 hours (staffed) business center, a spa, a garden area, a pool, fitness center.

The only negative thing I could think of is that the internet is a bit pricey, the location (This hotel would have been better if it located in center city of Bangkok!) and I had to pay 40 Baht for toll even though I was in a taxi (which is not a fault of the hotel).

Overall, great hotel ! It was above my expectation!

One has high expectations of this hotel after walking through the front doors into the massive Atrium. It's good not to have expectations though. The hotel is ok - just basically a standard, overpriced, convenient, airport hotel. It's a place you'll forget within hours of leaving.

We had a one night stay here before a 3am check-in for our flight to Bhutan. The room was slightly smelly - fried food, I think. The garbage in the bathroom hadn't been emptied from the previous guests. Apart from that it was relatively clean and comfortable.

Would I stay here again? Probably, if I had another early morning flight. It was horribly overpriced at about $195 US for one night.. but what do you expect for the convenience?

We spent one night in this four star hotel, the nearest to BKK’s frenetic and overstretched new airport . There is an enormous and busy reception area and our room was large and well equipped if somwhat bland. The staff are efficient and friendly and the hotel’s teething problems seem to be well in the past. There is a choice of restaurants - The Square is open 24 /7 and serves an unexciting and expensive mix of western and Thai food. There is a well equipped business centre but no WiFi, a strange omission in such an hotel. A good hotel in context and recommended for a short stay.

We stayed at the Novatel Airport hotel in March 2008. It is a perfect place to spend 24 hours when arriving in Bangkok. Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, from the Arrivals Hall, for the 5 minute trip.
Once inside the hotel, check in was friendly and quick. We booked through Agoda and breakfast was not included. We had a superb room, with every amenity you would expect of an Accor hotel.
The lobby dining is open 24 hours, and although not Thai prices, it was quality food and service.
After breakfast we spent a lazy day around the pool, had an early dinner before departing for our evening flight back to UK.
An excellent choice if you are just transferring at the airport and therefore avoiding down-town Bangkok with all its traffic, noise and pollution.
This hotel is certainly 4* in every way, quality, service, attention to detail, and reception even suggested that we could have our room until 3pm. at no extra cost.
Beware - book ahead - it is the only Airport Hotel !!

This hotel looks very impressive from the outside and on arrival in the lobby. Indeed it must have had a large sum spent on it, but unfortunately there is far too much to let it down. Bear in mind this hotel cost in excess of $200 for 1 night, and that was for a cheap rate, not the rack rate - and this didn't even include breakfast.
First, some of the rooms are a 5 minute walk from the lifts, the layout hasn't been thought out very well, which is a drag when getting to/from the room and other hotel facilities.
There was no hot water for my whole stay, despite running the water for over 5 minutes on several occasions there was still none. Yes, this is Asia, but I had no problem getting hot water at hotels far more remote in far cheaper hotels in Thailand and other parts of Asia.
The TV didn't work, I could only get the pay channels - and despite calling reception for assistance twice, nobody bothered to come to the room.
The service from the "porters" was non-existant, there were plenty of them standing around but no help was offered, and after being pointed to different people three times I gave up trying.
In summary, I wouldn't pay $50 for this hotel again, let alone $200. They have the advantage of being the only hotel at Bangkok's new airport, so at the moment can charge pretty much what they please for the convenience, but they are runing Novotel's repuatation with this awful service. Avoid if you possibly can.

We stayed at the Novatel Airport hotel in March 2008. It is a fine place to spend an overnight when arriving in Bangkok in the evening and catching a plane the next morning. Shuttle busses run with high frequency [at least every 10 minutes]. At the 5AM hour of our morning flight one was waiting at the front door for us And as soon as we loaded we were on our way for the 5 minute ride. It makes sense to stay at the airport because the ride to downtown hotels is 30 minutes without traffic and 90 minutes or more during busy times.

We found no dedicated walkways like the sky bridge for the Sheraton in Frankfurt or like the underground tunnel for the Hilton at O’Hare. It seems like one could walk across a large parking lot and arrive at the hotel; but with the heat and humidity of Bangkok and the timeliness of the shuttles why bother.

Once inside check in was friendly and quick. We booked through Agoda [search for them on google] and saved 20-30 percent over the best prices at the Novotel website. Part of the savings was that breakfast was not included, which aligned with our preference as there was a breakfast on the next morning’s flight. Agoda provided a voucher [by email] which we printed and was necessary to turn in to pay for our room.

The rooms were modern with all the amenities expected in a top notch business class hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the towels wonderfully plush. Wifi is available in the rooms at approximately $15 for 12 hours. The hotel staff was attentive, friendly, and always smiling. Security guards were posted in several spots on every floor.

The football field sized lobby is worth a dinner, snack, or cocktail. The highly polished black marble floor reflects the light used to illuminate the large potted trees creating a splendid illusion. Two food/drink establishments flank the lobby where we ate sandwiches and a glass of wine -- $45 for two.
