We were three persons staying there for four nights. The service is good, rooms are clean and fresh and the food is insane good. We almoust had every meal there because we were so satisfyed. Its also very close to the beach. This is the best guest house we have ever stayed in. I would warmly recomemd this place to anywone traveling to Unawatuna!

We had such a lovely stay here, the owners are very warm and welcoming and their staff were brilliant too. Nothing was too much trouble for them. All their food is homemade and very tasty and a bonus if your a vegetarian! Thanks so much for the homemade pineapple jam, it's scrummy. Location is really good, 2 mins walk to Unawatuna beach front were this is bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again x

I just loved the place. It is a basic hotel with basic rooms and standard but you get what you pay for in terms of rooms. The nice parts is the rest. A veryy, very friendly owner couple with high ambitions in getting the guests to feel taken care of. Very nice restaurant too!

This was the best room during our trip, it was clean and very nice. We chose the more expensive room type. For us, it was worth the price difference. We were happy with the breakfast. We also ate dinner once at the restaurant, which can be recommended. It is a 3-minute walk to the beach.

We stayed one night in a dark and humit homestay in Una after which we decided to visit more hotels/guesthouses. Compared to the other guesthouses we found at South Ceylon the best valued rooms in town.

Because the budget rooms were full we decided to allow ourselves a more expensive room which was a lot better than what we could find in Una for comparable rates.

We loved our clean and spacious room and enjoyed it for 3 nights. It had the softest matrass an pillows we had had in 5 weeks of traveling! We also ate three times at their delicious vegetarian and vegan restaurant, which has food to die for!

Because of the frequent visits to the beach, the room and bathroom got a little bit dirty. The owner could have provided us with additional clean towels and perhaps a quick cleaning of the room, but we're 100% sure that if we would have asked for it they would have done it without any hesitation as they help you in every way they can and are extremely kind. We would definitely recommend the guesthouse and restaurant to anyone when they visit Una.

This place is GREAT! i would recommend it to everyone. Ended up extending our stay from one night to four nights as we found the guesthouse and restaurant so nice. The staff are very friendly, and phillip the guy who helps run the place is a wealth of info! The food is fantastic and cooked fresh to order Because of this, you may have to wait a little while..But its a nice view from the balcony into the palm trees and ferns and listening to the birds and monkeys. its also very reasonably priced (cheaper than all the other restaurants we ate at) . The rooms are great value for all budgets, we are on a tight backpacking budget, but the room is the best we have stayed in. 1 minute walk from the beach and located near lots of little shops.

Room Tip: For budget travellers, the rooms are down stairs, but all include hot water, wifi and fan and mozzie...

The food is freshly cooked, so if for some reason you want fast food action whilst on a beach holiday, then this is not for you... if, however, you want amazing food, lovely staff and well-priced guest rooms for various budgets, then this is a great choice... but it is not on the beach...... well, if you stay on the beach then you will be kept awake by the increasing number of restaurants competing for business by playing loud music late into the night... I love Unawatuna and have been there many times during my four years in Sri Lanka, but the sound at the beach at night made me search for something away from the beach. South Ceylon is a great option and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

If you want to stay somewhere else, then I still recommend the food... good value, good size, great taste and lovely staff... they also cater for big groups...

Room Tip: Top room is slightly more, but gives you a lovely outside space...
