“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

We stayed here in February whilst at Unawatuna. Hibiscus villa was one of our favourite places to stay in Sri Lanka. The garden is beautiful and we were joined by parrots and monkeys in the trees at breakfast time. We had a gorgeous room and bathroom and were very well looked after. Perfect location and delicious tea!

We stayed at the Hibiscus for 2 nights in mid February. The villas were immaculate in terms of cleanliness and presentation. The service that Ajith and his team provided was exceptional and no request was too great. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast consisting of hoppers, rotti and fish and potato curry was to 'die for'! The garden is well maintained and had a plethora of wild life activity to entertain. Overall an amazing spot to relax and unwind.

I do not often write reviews but we wanted to say what a great 3 days we spent at the villa. Unawatuna is a really relaxing little place and has plenty of great beach and food snd drink options. The Villa's location is ideal, its just off the busier beach road but less than a 5mins walk to the beach area. The villa itself is stunning and there is a lot of room for everyone (only 4 rooms in a big well designed place). The ammenities, and breakfast were extremely good and the service was excellent and friendly. We really enjoyed getting to know the villa's owner, who could not have been more helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

They took such good care of us at Hibiscus Villa! The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated and the staff think of everything. Pots of tea seem to arrive just when they are needed and lights appear when you want to sit outside I the evening. The garden is a real treat; flowers, plants and so many birds. I spent many happy hours with a book on the terrace. It was so nice to have a contrast and a retreat from the bustle of the town. I arrived tired and needing a rest and that is exactly what I got. Thanks for a great holiday.

Well, we spent 18 Nights in Hibiscus Villa, and what can we say:
Hibiscus Villa ist just perfect.
But not only nice rooms, and a nameless garden, the Crew is what made our stay so remarkable!!
Lanka is a very polite man, he took care about us, and Asanka made us feel safe, even in the nights.
Ajith is a very special host and Entertainer, and we are glad we choosed his House for our Vacation.
We would definetly come back, and could have stayed even longer...

Don´t forget to bring books or your kindle, ´cause there is no TV!! reading on the Veranda will you make forget the world outside Sri Lanka...

Hibiscus Villa is definetly the best place to stay in Unawatuna, as long as you are not into tacky hotéls...

Room Tip: Take the front rooms (Garden View), the backroosm are much smaller.

We had 3 great nights at Hibiscus Villa over Christmas. It's a beautiful place where you immediately feel at home. Our breakfast was seved on our private little terrace, with lovely fresh juice and yummy Sri Lankan omelette. The rooms are lovely and the shared areas and garden are beautiful spaces where you can chill out or mingle with other guests if you want.
Ajith and the staff are very friendly and helpful and alwasy seem to appear just when you need them... what else...parrots, flowers, monkeys, easy walk to the beach and restaurants... I'll definitiely go back.

I stayed here for six days and loved it! The villa is across the road from the beach, with a beautiful garden, so it's a lovely peaceful retreat from the beach and the bars. The villa itself is very stylish so it really does feel like a home away from home. Ajith and the team really look after you, lovely and friendly. It was very hard to leave here!
