Description: Kingfisher is a hotel and restaurant beautifully located on the crescent-shaped beach of Unawatuna in the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka. It’s origins run back to late 90’s. We have a designed lounge bar where you can relax and sip a cocktail and we offer a western and eastern menu at the restaurent. All our products are fresh and from the market everyday. We also have daily and weekly events: Every saturday night, we organise a party with dj's, music in live.

Every bit of food we both had was really tasty, my Husband had Bruschetta and Red thai curry with yellow fin tuna, I had chicken satay and fried fish goujons and chips. Everything was homemade even the chips. The only downside is the disorganization of the staff, there are loads of them and yet they seem to avoid taking orders quickly. They appear to not know what they're doing, good job the chef does. You have to book although in our opinion half the booked customers didn,t turn up leaving empty tables that could have been filled.

Thank Claire C

service and pricelevel medium for compared with other restaurants on same level.
Food - you really wait a long time, and the quality is ok, not exeptional. Kingfisher will be remembered for location and cosy atmosphere

I went to dinner with 8 friends and the meal was wonderful
I had the fish and it was cooked right, They asked if i wanted med or well done and at med is was flaky and moist. I truly loved the meal and all my friends enjoyed their meal too.

Ensure you really have a firm reservation before making a trip there. They won't be flexible enough to find or prepare an exception table for you even you are only 2 person.

Apparently, caused by mis-communication our reservation was not listed. We were there at 7pm when half the place were still empty, they can't let us have any table (even though we told them, we will finish within an hour - as we have Tuk-Tuk waiting for us). Further request that its for my birthday celebration, they still can't make any exception.

We did not have any chance to experience the food quality with this restaurant but with such customer service, its a really put off experience.

Food was nice enough but it wasn't not even among top 5 best food we had in Una. Probably the course of the tripadvisor rating could have pushed there prices up as it was by far the most expensive restaurant we were dining in. Bottle of Prosseco for 70 dollars.

Dear Lubois. Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate very much your comments. The price of the dish unfortunately always depends on the ingredients used, so we do not think that our food is overpriced. Then we do not understand your wrong information about our prosecco price as our bottles cost 4500 - 5000 LKR (34-38 USD) depending on the brand. This prices are fix in our restaurant management system so there is no point for any one to give you a wrong information.
Thank you and best regards
Duminda
