A childhood dream come true! The treehouse was so much fun and had great ocean views. The room was cool overnight, and had a really nice balcony to sit on. The owner, Samitha, was extremely kind and helpful. And the food - wow! The chef Tenzing prepared the most amazingly Sri Lankan dishes we've had. The beach is only a few minutes walk and is the best beach we've seen on the south coast. We actually wished we stayed longer.
We completely loved our stay there, initially we intended to stay two nights and extended to four nights. The enthusiasm and passion of Samitha, the owner who made a childhood dream come true by building the treehouse after quitting his well paid "normal" job, Sampath, worlds beat Aryuvedic therapist, and Denzel, Sri Lankas most passionate cook, made the stay unique. They took really good care of us and our needs and didn't hesitate put all efforts into realizing our plans. The people were so kind and considerate, the food so fresh and healthy and of course the treehouses view as spectacular as promised, everything so very clean and you can see the love they put into that place in every detail. I could ho on and on and I would finally run out of kind words for what we experienced there so to cut short:
Highly recommended in every aspect!
We rented a 'normal' room next to the tree houses and had a wonderful night. The view is amazing, sleeping with the ocean sound... It is located near hiriketya beach. The host is very nice and welcoming. Our only regret was leaving the place !
Sami is an awesome owner and he loves the All Blacks (he was proudly wearing his AB shirt one morning) so that is a bonus! This is basic accommodation but has everything one requires and as others have pointed out he is passionate about his self build. The family room sleeps four and can be a little 'rocky' when one person walks around. Satisfactory breakfast with hoppers but we would have preferred some dahl to go with it, but hey, some chutney sufficed. Good camping coffee. You are a gem Sami and good luck with your project, so much more in keeping with the environment that the concrete slabs going up all around this gorgeous area.

Samitha is one of the kindest and most generous of hosts we have encountered in 3 months of travel. His project of the two treehouses reflect his love for nature and respect for the environment as he uses rescued wood and has constructed the treehouses cohesively with its surroundings. We stayed in the larger treehouse and were thrilled with our experience there. They are basic but roomy and have all the amenities you need. You feel as if you returned to your childhood dream of a treehouse. There is shelving, a large shower area, a balcony with table and chairs, even lines for hanging clothes and towels to dry. There is no AC but there is a fan and with this and the sea breeze, you are fine. There is a rock area nearby for sunning by the sea. Horseshoe Bay is a 5 minute walk away. The treehouses are located at the end of a quiet street. The homemade breakfasts of local cuisine from Samitha are spectacular and are some of the best and most ample we have seen. He truly goes out of his way to make sure you are well attended. We enjoyed meeting his father as well and getting to know this wonderful and exemplary family. They will make your stay in Dickwella a wonderful memory for you. The treehouses are a unique way to complement your stay in this wonderful country!
We initially booked 3 nights here but extended our stay (as did others that were in the second tree house). Samitha is the most incredible host - he goes out of his way to ensure you're having a good time and have everything you need. The location is perfect, as a 2 minute walk to Hiriketiya with good waves and restaurants, and a 10 minute walk to Dickwella township. The tree houses are great, breakfast delicious, and great view. Highly recommend.
Only stayed 1 night here as they were booked out after that but Samitha was an amazing host, speaks great English and continued to help us after we had left the treehouse by booking a safari to Uda Walawe and also helping with anything needed. The treehouses are so nice, simple but such a novelty and really comfortable. Hiriketiya beach is a close walk and is just a beautiful place to stay. Would highly recommend this great accommodation
