Stayed for one night in the Grand-Hill Hotel during the fasting period.
It is the newest and by far, the best hotel in the Puncak area.
Room is quite spacious with modern minimalist design.
The lack of traditional ornaments actually does the hotel a favor as it gives a "cleaner" impression compared to other hotel in the area.
It also has great view, with one option facing the mountain at the back of the hotel, and other option facing the valley with the main road in front of the hotel (but with noise coming from the road).
The bistro (restaurant) where they serve breakfast is well-built, open-air and have great view.
Food taste is nothing special, but definitely edible.
Breakfast buffet selection is not extensive but should be enough for up to 2-nights stay.
The downside will be that amenities are very basic and nothing fancy.
The bed and room fittings reflects that of the amenities, basic and not of high-standard.
That being said, I must emphasize on not having a very high expectation.
The area is mainly a short getaway destination for local people in Jakarta, thus it lacks a proper array of international-standard accommodation.
There are only 3-4 good accommodation at 3-star rating with the rest would only be a 1-star or none at all.
Keep your expectations low and you'll do just fine.More
