We were originally placed in a room directly next to where they are doing construction, and had to ask to be moved. Moving didn't help much, because we were woken up at 7:30am first by housekeeping letting themselves in without knocking. Then at 8:00am, the manager knocked on the door and asked us to get up and move "to a quieter location" because they were about to do some construction. We then went to get breakfast, and found it had already been put away and there was no food, at 8:30am. Between the construction and weedwhackers all going at once, being removed from our room so early, and no food, it was the least relaxing vibes we've been around in awhile
The new bar and restaurant area is beautifully decorated, but poorly planned and blocks the pool's view of the Nile delta. Confusing half-finished ramps and stairs created a ton of foot traffic by the pool. With the kitchen now right next to the pool, loud music playing from kitchen staffs phones and all the activity of a lodge's kitchen did not create a relaxing environment.
The bridge that creates access for game drives has also been washed away which means you are almost an hour's drive away from any of the game drives, which is meant to be the main point of staying at this location.
Staff were nice, but management was not attentive and unapologetic about our negative experiences.
Overall, horrible value for money, and we checked out early after the first night and spent the rest of our trip at a more reputable lodge in the park.
