Emayani Beach Lodge

We stayed one night here after being in Zanzibar and found the beach so much nicer and more exclusive without the crowds of tourists and beach boys. It is right on the beach and totally open yet one feels so safe and robinson cruisoe.
Lovely food and bar with a dunk pool right in front.
A real hidden gem. Thanks for the great stay. Linzi and Dave.

Had four nights at the Lodge. Great location on unspoiled white beach; Comfortable and romantic beach houses built out of natural materials surrounded by coconut palms. Really beautiful. Raman and his team went out of their way to spoil us. Very friendly people and excellent food. Were sad to leave.

Quaint bungalows made with local thatch yet good plumbing. Great catch of the day. Absolutely a kilometer of private beach. Great security. Access by Coastal Air. Ask for Banda 10--but only when we are not there! Same thoughtful owners as Tarangire Safari Lodge. Good 24/7 Maasai guards. No concern of safety. Great diving club adjacent with tours to reef reserve. Watch sea turtles hatch in rescue nursery. Sea taxi to Zanzibar a big plus.

The hotel is located ON the beach at south Pangani. It is a very beautiful beach and when we were there it was low season and we were the only ones which made it a very quite couple of days.
There were some problems with the power (which is normal in Tanzania) so during our stay (3 days) we never had power during the day, they say they have a back-up generator, but when we were there it was "out of order". We think they just didn't want to turn it on because we were the only guests and the generator costs diesel... So this was not very nice.
The lodges are wonderful and also located ON the beach. They are very spacious and just beautiful.
The food is not very good, which is a pity. They could do much better here, but again maybe it is because we were the only ones there..
The price is good and also the prices for food and drinks are ok. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting on the beautiful beach with a nice cocktail!

If you are going to or near to Pangani be sure to go for a day trip to Maziwe Island. It is the most beautiful thing there is! Go snorkeling there and you'll see all kinds of beautiful fish and turtles!

Our small group is just finishing up a three night stay here at Emayani Beach Lodge, it was a fantastic holiday from the bustle and dust of Arusha. This lodge is centered on an open air lounge/bar/restaurant, and is flanked by rustic bungalows, just steps from the eastward facing beach. It seems like this part of the coast is still "undiscovered", which was perfectly fine for us- just kilometers of beautiful white sand beach, the ocean breeze, quietness except for music quietly playing from the bar, and fantastic service. The workers here are gracious and helpful, and boat trips were readily arranged for snorkeling and to Zanzibar. There's not much of a "scene" here such as a nearby touristy town or party atmosphere, but if you're looking for an experience in which you can just slow down and soak in the ocean and sun, accompanied with a fantastic restaurant (we loved the meals) and laid-back bar, definitely look into this lodge.

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a very positive review.
You guys were very lucky as the weather changed tremendously on the day you took your flight back to Arusha. It has now been raining for 2 days in a row and we are looking forward to see some sunshine again.

Hope to see you in the future. Karibu tena! (Welcome again!)

We enjoyed a stay last September 2013 for three nights. The long trip to the hotel is definitely worth it. The beautiful beach is huge and you can walk along for hours. we liked as well, that it wasn't crowded. the bungalows are simple but have everything you need.
the staff is very caring and friendly.
