Emayani Beach Lodge
Reviewed December 27, 2012

When we arrived at Emayani Beach Lodge we really thought we are in paradise. The spacious and clean houses are in African Style (absolutely stonning!!!) and there are all directley at the beach. The houses are very open and you get a very special atmosphere (e.g. you can see the moon shining over the see at night and feel the wind blowing!)

The restaurant serves fantastic food and is directley at the sea. Because we were on honeymoon our first dinner was under a palmtree directley at the sea (including full-moon :)). This was organized by the staff without us knowing... > and there we come to the next highlight of Emanyani Beach Lodge: the staff and its host Johan!
They are very very kind, take their time for you and organize everything for you.

Emayani is a fantastic place to take a good rest.
You can walk along the beach, rent a canoe and go seekayaking or just relax at the swimming pool. We also want to recommend a snorkeling or diving trip with the nearby diving school. You go to the Marine Resort and the stonning reef and have a fanstatic day!

Room Tip: all the houses are great!

Dear Honeymoon couple,

We are all delighted by the fact that you gave Emayani Beach Lodge the highest possible rating!

It was a pleasure for all the staff to make your stay with us a memorable one, especially since your (honeymoon-) expectations were so high.
Your reaction is why we are in the service industry and we will thrive to keep up the good work. In the meantime all staff have been informed about your positive review.

We hope to meet you again somewhere in the future.
Karibu tena!

Our stay at Emayani was the first time and worth every dollar. The lodge itself and the total area is very beautiful. The staff is good and makes for a chat with you if you wish. Sadly the beach was not as white as hoped for, but it does not matter, it's to hot to lay on it. The neighbours at Kasa are very nice people. We were lucky to have 4 of the 5 evenings with turtles hatching. Diving was fantastic. Emayani is on our list to visit again!

Room Tip: There is no tip needed to choose a good room. The lodge has 12 similair bungalows. All with same gre...

We have returned to Emayani on an almost annual basis for the past decade. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bar is well-stocked with cold drinks and a colorful underwater backdrop for daydreaming while you sip your cocktail. They have Wifi, board games, and plenty of books available in the lounge area, and our kids absolutely love the Robison Crusoe-style bandas (individual rooms). The eco-friendly rooms are made only from local materials with lots of natural ventilation so you don't need air conditioning (A/C). This is an important advantage as power is often unreliable here and having the natural sea breeze at night is crucial. Not to mention hearing the sounds of the waves to lull you to sleep!

The beaches here are absolutely beautiful - the sort that you would find pictured on your computer's screensaver. There are no harassing touts and few tourists, so you can walk (or run) the beach for miles and feel like it's your own private beach. The rooms are only a few steps away from the ocean's edge, which is a great place for tide-pooling at low tide. The freshwater pool is a refreshing change when the seas are too rough or the tide is out.

Kasa Divers, the area's only dive center, is next door (walking distance) for outfitting your snorkeling and diving excursions. Emayani Beach Lodge is a great place to say if you're taking one of the PADI diving certification courses at Kasa Divers. And we highly recommend getting certified here - you can't beat the warm, colorful Indian Ocean for your first dives!

Overall it's a wonderful, chilled-out place that will allow you to forget the hustle-and-bustle of life on the outside. Beware...it's addicting!

Beautiful location and fabulous service. It was a great place for both kids and adults. The staff took very good care of us. A tropical paradise. It would have helped our driver to have better signage from Pangani.

Room Tip: I think they are all good.

Living in Dar, I have been to plenty of lodges around Tanzania, mainly beach lodges, and havent found a place that beats Emayani!
I love the tranquility, the endless beach with no beach hawkers!!
The food is light but filling and delicious, and the staff are just great! They make the best Pina Coladas! :)
Its worth every penny I spent!
I hope to come more often! :)
Thanks again!!!

We live in Arusha. Emayani Beach Lodge is our place to get away from it all, our rest/relaxation spot five times in the past few years. Great staff. Great food. Totally low-key. Unique, open, spacious cottages. Gorgeous beach that allows kilometers of uncrowded walking and swimming. And if you are into birds, the nearby forests, islands (by boat from the lodge) and mangrove swamp (by kayak) are hard to beat. There is good snorkeling at Maziwe Island and our diving friends tell us the diving is good too.

Room Tip: All 12 cottages are directly on the beach!
