It is a very nice place and we've frequented this establishment in the past but this time we had made a booking for a meal only to turn up and told that the restaurant had been booked out by a private function. Very poor. Also had an issue in 2012 where we had booked a table in the restaurant and they completely forgot about us whilst we had some drinks in the bar and when we enquired about our table they said the kitchen was closed. We won't be going back! Found somewhere far nicer.

Thank Charles W

I went with two others during a busy time of the year. It was pouring rain and we decided to eat out rather than cook at our accommodation. Initially we were not able to get a table but they were willing to take a booking for an hour later which was appreciated.
As to the meals, my wife had scallops which she found to be overcooked and watery. Our companion and I had blue cod fillets that were pleasant enough but for a pub meal grossly overpriced. We felt we would have been better to go to a more up market restaurant which would have been only a few dollard more expensive. The menu options were also limited and overall a disappointment.

Decided to go to the Victoria Arms Hotel for a meal after a long day at the lake in the sun (as a friend had highly recommended the place), walked into the restaurant at 8pm and was abruptly told that they would not be able to even order our meals till at least 8:45pm as they were too busy, I am not sure what their description of busy is but the restaurant was not even half full there was only 3 or 4 other tables with people at them. So we sat down and ordered our drinks anyway at around 8:55pm a group of international tourists (6 of them) came and sat down at one of the tables next to us, the waitress then came over to tell them that they could not order any meals as the kitchen was closed, even tho our meals hadn't even arrived yet!!! They were gutted!!! Our meals were very nice and good sized. But c'mon you can't treat people like this especially tourists which would have probably had a near $200 to spend at your restaurant. Sorry Victoria Arms but I will not be recommending you to anyone, sharpen up on you people skills!

When you live local you know what's good and what doesn't make the grade but being a regular TA user I thought I should let my TA 'friends' know about one of our better places to eat in our home town.
Last night along with our daughter, son in law and two primary school grandchildren who were visiting us we enjoyed an excellent meal at "The Vic' as it's commonly known.
The service was very good. We were warmly greeted and seated very quickly. There is a good range of drinks on offer and the menu is more than adequate for most tastes. Children are well catered for with both an imaginative menu and colouring in activities.
Our drink orders arrived promptly and our meals well within an expected wait time.
All our meals were cooked to perfection, well plated and presented. Likewise the desserts were also excellent. All in all a very good experience. "The Vic' both on this and previous occasions has delivered good quality food and drink and represents wonderful value for money.
