We stayed for only 1 night but it definitely was a stay we will always remember. We love farms and live on a small one ourselves. We wanted to see what a sheep operation of this size was like. It was an experience we will not forget. The room was nice and had a beautiful view to the mountain. The bathroom was down the hallway with toilet separate from the shower and sink. The wifi was free and it worked fine for us. The lambs and sheep Sue keeps near the area of the house were such that we were able to feed them. Peter took us on a tour of the farm which covers a huge area. Field after field of sheep were a delight to see. He also had his trained sheep dogs demonstrate their abilities of working around the sheep. Later we did have dinner that Sue prepared which was super delicious! Having the time after dinner to talk with them and share our ways of life was so much fun. Breakfast in the morning was equally as delicious as the dinner. They truly are a wonderful couple and we definitely would recommend staying with them.
We booked this farm stay after a very long search in the Otago area that would be good for kids to get a truly unique farm experience and this was it. Peter and Sue are the most gracious people, so down to earth and genuinely love hosting families with children.
Sue made dinner and breakfast, Peter took us on a lovely tour of the farm and gave an enlightening demo of how to properly herd sheep using his working dogs. Collected eggs for breakfast and made friends with the pet sheep as well.
Would highly recommend a stop here and we would most certainly stay again.
