While making a dental trip to Los Algodones, I looked for a good place to eat. This restaurant serves very tasty typical Mexican fare at very reasonable prices (lunch about $10.00). They have a large menu and serve the usual chips and salsa first, and have wine, beer and drinks.. Hours: I arrived about 10 AM and it looked like they were just opening. Service is slow, but relax. Food is good and waiters are polite. If you are looking for a light meal after dental work, I especially recommend a large bowl of their delicious Mexican chicken and vegetable soup, which tastes great and is full of flavor even after novocaine. Please note: Los Algodones liquor laws only allow sales of liquor and drinks in stores and restaurants (including beer and wine) after 11 AM. There may be a cut-off time at night, also, which I did not check. If planning to buy liquor to bring back across the border, please check the time before doing so. How to find Pueblo Viejo Restaurant: It is located just across the border, near the crossing. Pretend you are returning to the US side from Mexico and are about to enter walkway. On last street on Mexican side, just before crossing, look to right about 50 feet. You will see the front entrance to Pueblo Viejo, which is a low building with an open front. I have no phone number or other information. There is no website. No reservations. This just a good simple Mexican restaurant. Have fun and buen proveche.
