Owner description: Step back 200 years in time at Lang Pioneer Village Museum! Lang Pioneer Village Museum is located just 10 minutes east of Peterborough on the shores of the Indian River. Established in 1967, the Museum features over 25 restored and recreated buildings. Costumed interpreters roam the picturesque village demonstrating the life and trades of a settler in the 1800's. The Village is complete with lanes and pathways, farm animals, vegetable and herb gardens and other authentic details of a 19th-century hamlet. The Museum is open seven days a week from Father's Day to Labour Day. Come enjoy the pleasures of a time gone by today!

I love the Village and try and get out every year. My favorite events are apple harvest and Halloween. This is a great spot to bring your kids to trick or treat....expect a few tricks!

I've been here several times with school groups - great educational program. I've also been here twice with my own family. It is in a lovely location and is a nice way to spend a day!

“Lovely spot, nice little village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2012

This is a smallish pioneer village, but very nicely done with excellent interpreters and fun special events. Reasonably priced--overall, it's a great place to spend a few hours with kids under 13. Nice little gift shop, too. You can even buy flour ground on-site at the mill.

“Upper Canada Village in Peterborough area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

Good covered picnic tables just outside the main entrance for a rest or for lunch. Lots of displays and authentic furnishings as well as transported pioneer buildings. Gives a real glimpse of what it was like in "the old days"
