“Birthday Hillwalking Long Weekend”
Reviewed August 12, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Very welcoming homely place to stay, excellent big country kitchen.
We found it excellent for what was to be a weekend of hillwalking and food and drink! The house has a big entrance hall to leave the boots and wet gear in.
The bedrooms were very comfortable and given it rained most of our weekend it was amazing to come back to a relaxing big bath tub after hillwalking!
We very much enjoyed long dinners in the kitchen then retiring to the very comfortable lounge corner sofa to relax. Noticed that this sofa is actually a sofa bed as well if it was required. The highlight given all the rain was the log fire stove, this was excellent and probably one of the best I've used. The owner is very generous in supplying free logs which we found stacked out the back in the garden once you've emptied the basket by the fire. We never once turned on the TV favouring music, the mini hifi in the lounge has an ipod dock. The house is a lovely old Scottish house with its quirks and own character, very homely and welcoming and a short walk from the town centre. Having contacted the owner she very kindly let our friends dog, Massey stay for the weekend. She only asks that the dog is kept off the beds/sofa etc which was never going to be an issue with Massey who was only ever attracted by the fire place. Erindearn was a perfect retreat for my birthday weekend with friends.

“Magical Christmas”
Reviewed December 29, 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We spent 10 days over Christmas at Erindearn cottage with my parents and 2 golden retrievers. This is a fantastic place for dogs with plenty of walks on the door step. We got 2 days of snow which made the Christmas experience even more magical. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area including Aviemore, Dalwhinnie and Kinguisse as well as going on the famous 'Wildcat Trail' (ideal for a long dog walk or if you have kids). The cottage is spacious and well equipped for all your needs. The fire kept the house toasty warm when the heating went off. The owner was brilliant and responded to all my emails promptly. I would highly recommend a stay at Erindearn cottage. Thank you so much.

“Excellent, well-kept, comfortable house in perfect location”
Reviewed November 21, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Beautiful, character house with wonderful décor and facilities. Very comfortable and warm, so much so that we didn't need to light the cosy log fire. Outstanding location - perfect for walking and skiing holidays in winter and all manner of outdoor activities via local company all year round. Excellent range of local pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. We will definitely be booking again very soon.

“Simply Wonderful”
Reviewed October 27, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

It would be very hard to fault the property, or the location. The house is excellently furnished, warm and welcoming. The peace and tranquility was a delight, I thought I lived in a fairly quiet location until I stayed here, absolutely no man made noise to disturb us at all. The village is barely a 5 minute walk away and has excellent places to eat or drink and the local co-op has just about everything you could need. Along with the attractions nearby the week was delightful and went by all too soon. Definitely a property I would return to.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We value all reviews so that we can continually improve.
I am so very sorry that you found unclean utensils and cobwebs in the house. The caretaker does try to check everything prior to guests arrival but sadly these appear to have been missed on this occassion. The caretaker has been notified to check each time for these from now on.
Our gardener is a lovely old gentleman but we only found out after your stay that he is now only able to cut grass and is no longer up to keeping up the rest of the garden. We have now found someone else to tidy up the other areas of the garden.
The towel radiators in the bathrooms have valves that someone must have turned off. It is a simple task to turn them on. My number and the caretakers are both in the visitors book so that if guests have any problems or queries at any time, we can be contacted. I'm sorry that you didn't contact us during your stay so that we could rectify things while you were there.
I do hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.

“Lovely house”
Reviewed June 6, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Good location, lovely spacious house, comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms, only negative was us having to chase for address and details of property, we couldn't find the house after a very long drive and there was no sign on the property, made up with welcome pack and prosecco. The house was chilly on dull days and there was no way to put on radiators however always plenty of hot water.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. Although we have received many positive reviews, we appreciate the negative comments in order to improve where possible.
Sadly, the sign had fallen off the gate prior to your arrival. It has been damaged quite badly and we are in the process of replacing it. Many guests check arrival details and directions a couple of days prior to arrival with myself or the caretaker.
The heating is turned off during the summer months as there is lots of hot water and a wood burner. We provide an unlimited supply of firewood for the wood burner. Many guests find the house warm and cosy. However, we would never want guests to be cold. If you had contacted me during your stay, the heating would have been put on a timer for you.
Many thanks again for your review.

“Beautiful house in a great location”

Arrived at short notice after a holiday nightmare in France and pleased to say the house was everything we hoped for.

It was was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there - even the weather was better than expected!!

A great base which we used to visit many parts of the Highlands and Islands and there is also plenty to do without leaving the village.

Hope to be back again!!
