A beautifully presented and extensive site that evokes the way of life for real people of the Highlands. The museum is clearly loved by all who are involved with it which makes the experience even better.

“Great outdoor museum free to get in!”

A great day out exploring the past lives of crofting folk in a massive site. The volunteers are really knowledgeable and bring it all to life. Good playpark and cafe too.

well worth seeing the old school room, the farm, the old houses and bus. Tearoom very good. Free entry to the museum and that is very unusual nowadays

“Fascinating open air museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012

We saw only 1/3 of the place because it was rotted weather that day, but what we saw was worth it. We saw the early farming tools and what life was like during wartime. We hope to go back to see the rest, especially as it's FREE ENTRY.

“Spend a day here for free!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012

We live nearby and always take visitors to the Museum. It is very interesting and you can spend a few hours wandering about. The blackhouses are amazing. There is an excellent children's play area and a nice wee cafe
