We thoroughly enjoyed looking for all the cats . We did it over 2 days, doing the hill walk and town first, then coming back to do the lower river walk and the parts of the town that we missed. It would have been nice to paint our own smaller cat to take home as a souvenir.

Our daughter loved this - it is a form of Treasure Hunt whereby you mark on a map the location of the various life-sized painted cats that are hidden around the village. We also got caught up in spotting the cats. Some of the colours were quite similar which made them a little hard to identify.

The woman in the centre was very nice, but didnt fancy forking out £9 for a 3-4 hour walk around the village. im sure it was lovely but in my opinion there are a lot of better places in the area to spend 4 hours exploring. If you have children 5- 12, may be worth you going to look for the plastic wildcats, as they may enjoy it.

This is an addictive activity! First of all, head to the Wilcat Experience shop on Newtonmore Main Street (across from the Post Office), buy your pack which includes everything you need and off you go. Staff at the shop are very welcoming and helpful. My husband and I started 'Wildcat Hunting' on a snowy day about two years ago and have continued every time we visit Newtonmore. It is a superb way to discover what Newtonmore has to offer, enjoy the beautiful scenery...and have fun. When local people see you clutching your Wilcat Pack they know what you are doing, and invariably smile and offer encouragement. We always take the pack with us are still finding new cats to put on our map. We have now introduced friends to this mini adventure and plan to involve many more. Suitable for all ages and anyone who has a sense of fun. There is also the Wildcat Trail which offers several walks around the area. Again, get your pack at the Wildcat Experience shop then choose the walks which suit you best. Walks range from easy, fairly short outings to longer, more strenuous ones. They can also be combined which makes them really flexible. The pack describes the walks in detail so you can head off with confidence, bearing in mind that this is Scotland and weather conditions can change in minutes! Enjoy!

This was our 3rd year of doing this and still love it!

Unfortunately didn't manage to find all the cats this time (couldn't find 3!) but really enjoyed doing it yet again!

Hope to find the missing 3 next time!
