From the outside this hotel looks like a very old traditional coaching house/inn, and the bar areas inside do not disappoint!
I was a bit scepital that rooms would be old/small (as many are in older inns), but very pleasantly surprised - lovely rooms, all mod cons (inc. Tea & coffee), spacious & very clean & we just had the Classic rooms. Staff all very friendly & helpful, even going so far as to dis-assemble our sinks U-bend to retrieve jewellery - many thanks!) As a travel agent, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to clients, as it's also very well located.

There were seven of us from across the country arriving before a two day meeting locally. The Crown was perfect - easy to find from the station, efficient in allocating comfortable spacious rooms and the bar/restaurant are was ideal for finding just the right combination of comfort and privacy for a businessy but informal chat over drinks and dinner. Restaurant is very nice but the hotel is also well placed to explore other places to eat nearby. WiFi is easy to use and the room had plenty fo space and plug sockets for using laptop, etc.

I have booked Youngs pub accommodation for this type of visit before elsewhere and always found it to be good, relatively inexpensive and friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms on ground floor overlook carpark and could get looked-in-upon - might want to choose one on fi...

Really, really recommend this hotel. I love the rooms which are clean and very comfortable. The staff are really great ... very helpful and welcoming and the I love the fact that it feels like your local gastro pub but with great hotel rooms. Food is pretty good too!

Secure parking and room service to boot. When booking early I was able to secure a premium room for a standard room price.

Free wifi which actually works and a great breakfast made this a place I actually look forward to staying in. I rebook for this hotel everytime I need to stay in this area even to the extent of being on the wait list if its full rather than book somewhere else.

Room Tip: For an extra special room - ask for the one at the top of the spiral staircase!

The wedding breakfast to which we'd been invited was in Chertsey's 163 Bar (very impressive), so we booked to stay overnight at the Crown, a short stagger down the high street. Frankly, we'd have been more-or-less happy with anything halfway decent, but we were pleasantly surprised: the Crown is seriously good (as well as being a good traditional pub and restaurant). We'd booked a superior room, which was fine (that of our son and his girlfriend even better, a huge room): this pub can hold its own against many "real" hotels we've stayed at. Our room was large, well-equipped, warm, had everything you'd expect from a well-run hotel. Breakfast was good, staff friendly and helpful (and they replenished eggs, mushrooms etc right until after the 10:00 'shut-off', rather than claiming that they'd finished). Free car park at rear, handy for rooms. Reception efficient. Very good value.
All in all, a few pricier "real" hotels could learn a thing or two from the Crown.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new block: apparently they were refurbished a year or so ago.

Stayed for one night to go early to Thorpe Park the next day. Lovely rooms and really nice bar area. Had a meal there which was nice and breakfast was great. Agree about the rooms being a bit chilly and found ours took a while to warm up! Worth noting they authorise your card for £150 as a deposit. I expected them to take my card when I checked in but only for cost of the room so only just had enough in my account to cover this as was just before payday! I don't stay in many hotels and this maybe common but I didn't expect it. Other than that - perfect!

Stayed in a superior room on a Saturday night. Room was clean and of a good standard although very cold because the heating had not been on. Room soon warmed up once turned on.

Only complaint was that there was a live band on till very late which we could hear from across the car park. we were made aware of this when we checked in but would have booked elsewhere if we had known earlier. Also, when people left the bar after closing there was a lot of noise and the car park barrier scrapes against the wall in room 400!

I've stayed here quite a few times on business and each time its been an enjoyable. The food is always varied and very tasty. All the bar staff are friendly as are the staff on a morning serving breakfast. The bar stocks a good range of drinks and the menu is seasonal so they always offer something different although i always go for the burger or ribeye! The rooms are just your standard small hotel room although always clean and quite comfortable.
