“too much for too little”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

Theme parks in the UK don't get it.
This place is no exception. How can they justify the prices? Not only is it exorbitant to pay the entrance fee, they also charge £5 to park. So for just shy of £100 we ( two adults and one 11 year old) went to join the queue - for forty minutes during Easter. Only four attendants taking the money. What were they thinking?
Once in though it was very clean and appeared quite open.
Food outlets were reasonably priced.
Insufficient rides for the cost. It goes from extreme rides to baby ones with nothing between.
Must do the water rides - among the best and queues short
Avoid - Saw, long queue for a short thrill.

Dear KNP,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments following on from your trip to THORPE PARK Resort.

We understand that our guests want to enter the park as quickly as possible and for this reason we give our guests the opportunity to print their tickets at home with out 'best price guarantee' online.

For guests who do purchase at the resort, we have a number of ticket points at the entrance. During our peak entrance time (9.30am-12pm) during Easter, we always have a minimum of 12 kiosk windows open, in addition to a further 12 ticket collection and Annual Pass windows. After 12pm, we will reduce these inline with demand. I can confirm that at no point during our peak time last week did we have we just had 4 attendants at our kiosk selling point.

We pride ourselves on offering rides for the whole family and we do have a variety for all ages. These range from Flying Fish, Rock Express and Carousel for young guests, SAW, SWARM and Stealth for the thrill seekers and Loggers Leap, Rush and Detonator for the people in between.

Thank you once again for your review and I hope to se you again soon at THORPE PARK Resort!

Kind regards
Dominic

“Will be going for a third time!! // Amazing //”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

Amazing. I've been to a Thorpe Park twice and hoping to go for a third next week. The last two times I have been I had stayed at the crash pad (now the Thorpe shark hotel) which was good for fright nights. If you get here for when the park opens there are little ques and you can do all the big rides in under an hour. But the ques increase rapidly and therefore you need to get fast track which isn't cheap.

The water rides are good and thrilling on a hot summers day, but be prepared to get soaked.

The last two times I have gone with my dad as my older sister and mum are scared of rides so me and my dad have a bit more money to spend on fast track. Which is worth it as you can cut a two hour que down to ten minuites or even less.

There aren't many big rides but the ones that are there are very good. Which are:
The SWARM
Stealth
Saw - THE RIDE
Nemesis inferno
Colossos

My favourite has to be stealth as it is so thrilling, we went front row and it is a completely different experience.

Overall it is a amazing day out and worth the money. The staff are friendly and the food is good, not much choice but if you have lunch either earlier or later than the other riders then you can skip the ques whilst their having lunch.

Can't wait to go again next week.

“Great day”
Reviewed April 11, 2014 via mobile

Ordered annual season ticket, online for £48, and went to collect it yeasterday, 10th April 2014. Due to some reconstruction work around the ticket booth it was a bit unclear where to go, but eventually found it.

Went into the park and within 15 mins had already been on Swarm, it was such a buzz. It was a beautiful day yesterday, ideal theme park weather, so we made the most of it as it was not too crowded. Had a great day, there are loads of places to get food and drinks.

2 coffees a 2 sandwiches was about £10, which included 20% discount because of the season ticket.

Would recommend checking online before visiting the park, as the better deals are available online and not at the park.

Charging £5 for the car park a bit excessive, coaches are free, as driving to the park is the easiest way to get there, maybe the entrance fee should include the car park. You can pay online for tne car park.

Was looking forward to going on Loggers Leap as the last ride of the day, avoiding spending too long in wet clothing, but it was out of action. Intend to make full use of the season ticket, so catch you next time Loggers Leap.

The park was open yesterday from 10.00 to 18.00, a full day of enjoyment.

Dear David,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to THORPE PARK Resort!

We love to hear when guests have had a fantastic experience with us at the island like no other.

At the park entrance we have 2 dedicated areas for Annual Pass collection, this is the main Annual Pass building and the Advanced Ticker Collection office.

I’m glad to read that you made use of your exclusive annual pass discount, be sure to try our new Fish & Chips restaurant next time!

All our rides are subject to technical difficulties and I’m sorry Loggers Leap was not operational. We have a trained team of engineers to ensure any shutdown is minimal and our guests can get back to enjoying their day as soon as possible!

Our car parking charges are in line with all other visitor attractions and
over the next five to ten years many millions (from parking) will be invested into the Park to ensure its continued future success and the world class guest experience we are able to offer is improved.

Thank you for your loyalty as an annual pass holder and see you again soon at THORPE PARK Resort.

Kind regards,
Dominic

“Fantastic day out”
Reviewed April 11, 2014 via mobile

Visited yesterday and had the best day !! Not much of a queue to purchase tickets, we arrived at about 9.45 (opened at 10). Straight on to Stealth after about 10 mins queue time. Managed to do Stealth 3 times, Swarm 3 times (once backwards which was fantastic), Saw and Nemisis once each. Longest queue was for Saw which was about 45 mins. Did 16 rides in total. Great value Pizza Hut buffet, £9.99 for unlimited pizza, salad and drinks.

Can't understand people moaning about queue times - if you go to a theme park, you should be prepared for queuing !!
People moaning about the cost - clearly £48 for the day is very high, but there is so many offers and discounts such as 2 for 1, adults go free etc aswell as up to half price when buying online on advance that anyone who pays full price £48 only have themselves to blame !!

The only negative is the £5 charge for parking. Very unfair to make people pay for parking, really poor customer service.

We visit quite regularly and will be back soon !!!

Dear Mr Morgan,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to THORPE PARK Resort!

It is always our aim to provide guests with a memorable experience therefore I am pleased to read this was the case. Stealth 3 times in a row is good going...

I am sorry you are disappointed with the parking charge. We feel that the car parking charge at THORPE PARK Resort is in line with other major tourist attractions in the UK. THORPE PARK Resort prides itself on offering guests a thrilling, high quality and value for money experience. The revenue raised from car parking will be invested back into the Park, enabling the company to continue opening high quality new attractions such as THE SWARM which opened in 2012

As part THORPE PARK’s work with the local community and the Surrey County Council, the Park will continue to encourage guests to use public transport. With easy transport links to and from London, as well as a dedicated shuttle bus service from Staines, it is hoped that more families will use public transport which ultimately will help the Park and guests reduce their carbon footprint.

Thank you once again for your review and see you again soon at THORPE PARK Resort.

Kind regards,
Dominic
