My 12 yr old son visited Thorpe Park today as a school trip reward, he was very excited as he is a real thrill-seeker and was very much looking forward to going as this was his first time there however he has returned very upset and disappointed as he only got to go on one ride the whole day-Tidal wave, he said it was so packed that you couldn't see for a carpet of people and the queuing times were ridiculous! I feel that this needs to be looked at if schools are to continue to participate in this school trip as the rides are there to be seen but not a hope in hell of riding them. Surely a limit to the amount of people should be put in place, particularly in the amount of schools? Very angry mum!

The most common complaint people have with Thorpe Park is the queue time. I accept that waiting 2 hours for 18 seconds on Stealth is absolutely ridiculous. What people need to realise is that: before going to somewhere like Thorpe Park, you should look up tips to avoid the queues - and I would recommend doing that to anyone who is going. Whenever I've been to Thorpe Park, the queues have not been horrendous (aside from Stealth, Storm Surge and Colossus typically) however I've got the most out of my day by avoiding the queues.

Anyone going to Thorpe Park should follow a few tips: do not plan the ride order, find out which ride has the shortest queue and go on that. Get to the park at the start of the day and stay until closing time, because these are the times of day where the lines will be shortest. Eat lunch either before 11:30 or after 2, because the lines will also be relatively short between 12 and 1 when everyone else goes to eat. This way, you avoid both the restaurants being packed out and you can get a few rides in of Tidal Wave at the hottest part of the day. Following this, one can usually get on everything in a day, have been on Saw and Colossus 4 times each in one day before, and last time I went I got 3 rides out of Swarm, the newest ride there. Stealth, however, it may be worth one getting a fastpass for if you really want to go on it - but it is a very short roller coaster and the main reason for riding it is just to say that you have.

When you can dodge the queues, the day will be incredibly fun. Whilst there are less family-oriented rides than say Chessington, the park is certainly aimed at "thrilseekers". However the rides are all incredibly fun, even the lesser regarded ones in my opinion, and more importantly, they are all incredibly safe. Be sure to bring lots of sun cream.

Thorpe Park is definitely not aimed at younger children, so for a family not consisting of "thrillseekers" Chessington would probably be a better park. However if some members of the group are not as thrillseeking as others, Thorpe Park does have a few rides for them: notably the Rumba Rapids, Loggers Leap and X:/ No Way Out (which is not as daunting a roller coaster as it looks from the outside).

Went to Thorpe Park with a group of friends on Saturday and we had a blast of a time.
A few tips:
- Buy your tickets online and print at home before you go!
- Get to the park before 9am to get a good parking and be first in line
- Run to 'The Swarm' first and make your way anti-clockwise around the park to get on the big rides before the park gets busy
- Take a towel! The water rides WILL make you soaking wet.
- There is WiFi coverage in the whole park so you can post to facebook etc while waiting in line
Other than that, Thorpe Park is an awesome day out and really close to London. Definitely recommend it to everyone!

Thorpe Park is one of my all time favorite places to go in the summer in the UK, however it is never without its drawbacks. Queues can go up to over 2 hours long and usually for the big rides rarely go under 60 minutes. There are lots of smaller rides with much smaller queues that you can enjoy just as much however. My personal favorite is the Loggers Leap. This time I unfortunately slipped a rib whilst at the park and so couldn't really have as much fun as I wanted but still really enjoyed my day and had fun in the sunny weather with a great atmosphere of the park.

Absolutely disgusting! 140 minute queues for all the main rides, then when you joined the queue it ended up longer. Park filled to capacity! Bought a refillable drink for £6, very few places to fill it up and even then it was a 30 minute queue to get served. Bloody nightmare on one of the hottest days of the year.

The park couldn't care less how many people they pack in, get your money then who cares if you wait all day.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
