I wasn't really expecting much from this hotel as i knew it from old when it had been primarily a pub but we'd booked in as we were having a family celebration there. What a wonderful surprise!

It started at reception when we arrived 2 hours early. The housekeeper was immediately notified and asked to make up our room first. A short wait later and we were shown to our room by the manager, who was everything you'd want - polite, friendly and helpful.

The room itself was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in -spacious, in good decorative order, brilliant view and with lots of little touches that you'd like to think all hotels could provide - plenty of tea/coffee and space to make it, a proper hairdryer, boxes of tissues, nice toiletries, and even a big bowl of mints!

The bar/restaurant staff were all extremely helpful, actually knew something about the wine list and were able to advise on selection, and cheerfully assisted us with our preparations for our evening party, which we held in one of their function rooms.

Overall I got the impression that all the staff were well trained in customer care worked well as a team. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the area and will certainly be going back there myself.

We spent 3 days at the Fayrness hotel, 6 adults and 4 children (8-11).

The rooms where large, clean, well equiped and eveything worked. Hotel staff could not have neen more helpful.

Food was very good and lots of it. exceelnt sandy beach 2 mins out of door and great views across the bay.

We drove into Broadstairs in 15 mins and an extra delight is North Foreland golf club 5 mins away.

If you want a child friendly, clean, well appointed hotel for a short break, i think this is a great choice.

We spent two nights at the hotel in a large room with a small balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The evening meal in the main restaurant was great. The only downside was the noise from the bar that went on past 12 o'clock at night. The room had a superb flat screen TV.

So we arrived on Sunday to this dull lifeless brown and green smelly hotel to be greeted with the receptionist having a tantrum with our friends who had arrived earlier, and who were requesting a change of room due to the noise of the kitchen and extraction units, and the size and quality of "their executive suite" the chances of an executive accepting this room would be most unlikely. She argued and waved her fingers and slammed doors at our friends who were surprised to be treated in this disrespectful manner by a young girl who clearly had not be trained in customer liason, no duty manager was available apparently and we were in the hands of a silly girl !!

The problem was eventually resolved, it cost my friends more money to exchange their room, surprise!! and we all accepted the best of a bad job, we spent 101.00 for our one nights stay for two with an amateur poor breakfast served by kids.
Why don't hotel operators check out how the job should be done in Europe, America etc, and travel into this century ? at this hotel they advertise that this hotel was re-fitted eight years ago proudly !!it really needs some attention now and a new modern colour scheme.

Its scruffy , badly run by kids, and was not worth half the money, avoid it like the plague fellow travellers.

We stayed for one night as we were meeting family in the area.We booked a sea-view room, and it had french windows opening onto a lovely view.Up-to-date furnishings,a king-size bed,and everything very clean ,including the en-suite bathroom. We did not eat in the restuarant as we had lunch with relatives.Had sandwiches in the bar that evening amid a pleasant atmosphere with families, couples and locals. After 11pm,the area was very quiet and we had a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed.So impressed,we are coming back next month for a couple of days.

We booked via a hotel booking website and got a discounted rate of £50 per double room including breakfast which was excellent.
We were delayed in our arrival which gave us only 30 minutes to change and freshen up. The hotel receptionist was very helpful, taking us to our rooms (rather than pointing and grunting which so often happens nowadays!) and calling a taxi for us. She also managed to produce fresh sandwiches for us in about 7 minutes!
The rooms were of adequate size, furnished well with a decent wardrobe and dressing table including a safe. The bathroon was large with a proper bath and adjustable power-shower above. Superb toiletries were included. Bath towels were of a generous size a good quality.
The hotel is quiet and although my room overlooked the back of the kitchen there was little or no noise even with the window open.
Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of hot menu and the usual cereals and toast/preserves. The breakfast room is well appointed overlooking the sea.
The only downside is that the approach from Marine Drive (via Percy Road) is treacherous as the have potgoles to rival the Grad Canyon. My advice would be to access the hotel via Kingsgate Ave - slightly longer route but you will have all axels intact!
I look forward to a return visit.
