“Just about as far East as you can get without falling in the sea.”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

This was just a bed and breakfast experience for me, I arrived at five pm, went out at six and returned after midnight. The room was a large family room for three, it was clean and recently decorated. The bed was a double rather than two singles pushed together and very comfortable, the pillows were perfect for me ( sometimes two is too high and one is not enough).
The bathroom was small with a shower over the bath. Not wanting to wash my hair I thought I would have trouble with the large downward facing shower head but managed ok. My room was at the back overlooking the car park and was very quiet while I was in it. At the front though ia beautiful view of the cliffs, the sea and a rather elegant offshore wind farm.
Breakfast was a buffet for juice, rolls and cereals and then the waitress took orders for variations of full English breakfast, toast and hot drinks. Mine was all lovely althought there was a bit of a wait as I arrived at a busy time.the breakfast room was light and airy with views to the front and the sea.
The staff were all friendly and polite especially the chambermaid who gave me a peak at a front facing room which was pretty similar to mine but with a balcony and that magnificent view. Next time ill book earlier.

Great hotel with lovely beach walk on your doorstep and a fabulous breakfast. Family room was great with plenty of space, double bed and 2 proper single beds. Would definitely go back. Nice quiet location and plenty of parking.

Room Tip: Family room was spacious and comfortable.

This hotel has just had a total make over. It was clean modern and in a perfect location. they are a very dog friendly hotel , which it is why we booked, with our two jack russels. The food was very good . we would return.

We visited this hotel when visiting family and initially we were very impressed by it as it was very clean and stylish.
However there were lots of niggles which annoyed us such as there being a hand rail in the bath/shower which was placed in such a way as you make sure you hit often whilst using the shower.
When we first arrived (on a warm Saturday afternoon) the heating was on full blast and I had to move a couple of chairs and a sideboard to reach the controls.
We slept very badly due to the sea gulls (which we know to expect by the sea) but we couldn't close the windows due to the heat and there being no air-conditioning in the room at all.
Breakfast on the Sunday morning was chaotic as there were lots of staff but none of them seemed to be doing much; however the food itself was very good.

This was just the kind of hotel to stay at if you are looking to be away from the bustle of a town. The bay is beautiful and the hotel excellent. Our room was fine but the extra for a sea facing one would be desireable I would specially mention the attitude of the staff, from the manager downwards, who made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely fine but not memorable.
We did walk into Broadstairs and it took us about 90 minutes on paths and roads. It would be quicker walking along the beach but check the state of the tide before you go.

Room Tip: Pay more foe a sea facing room!

My boyfriend and I just came back from a weekend trip to Kent. We were looking for a hotel to stay in the Broadstairs/Margate area after a cycling along the Viking Costal Trail. Taxis to and from either Broadstairs or Margate is about a fiver each way but it is well worth it for the great views that the hotel offers and the peaceful, tranquil setting! We got a seaview room with a lovely terrace. The room itself was modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly from the start to the end of our trip and answered all the questions we had about restaurants, attractions etc. A visit to Botany Bay (a few minutes away) and its chalk cliffs is a must! There is one pub nearby (The Captain Digby) which was pretty good but otherwise there are no other restaurants in the area. The full English breakfast (with croissants, toast etc) at the hotel was delicious - it was included in the price of our room but we would have happily paid separately for it. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a sea view room

The hotel is always clean and spotless when we visit. I have never written on one of these sites before, but reading the last review made me so angry. The staff are wonderful and the management do there best. Its not their fault that the hotel is on the coast and gets window. Debris on a balcony can't be helped after a wet night, and the drain issue, could have just happened due to the high volume of rain. Once reported i'm sue they will have it repaired. A balanced view is what should be reported on here. Take out emotion. I love the place and will always return. Yvonne.
