“This is the best”
Reviewed March 30, 2011

We first stayed at the Fayreness at the end 2009.

We liked it so much that we booked up every four to five weeks for 2010 and have done it again for 2011.

Our daughter and her husband stayed there for their 1st wedding anniversary, on our recommendation, and very much enjoyed it, especially the food. The Fayreness staff arranged champagne and flowers on their arrival (this is an extra).

The staff are helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is great and very reasonably priced.

We are puzzled by some of the negative comments such as:

“the bar and restaurant were packed with tables” – there are tables, as well as chairs, what do you expect to sit and eat at.

“approaching the reception involved running the gamut of the restaurant customers” – we are not sure how you get in to get to reception through the restaurant !!

The rooms that we have stayed in, all have hair dryers. There are now new televisions and some rooms have air conditioning.

We would highly recommend a stay.

Dear Mr & Mrs Mason,
Firstly I would like to thank you for your lovely comment, it really was a pleasure for the staff and I to read your review.
We were so pleased to hear your comment regarding our staff as we know with out our warm and friendly staff The Fayreness Hotel would not be the same. We feel that going the extra mile for our customers is what distinguishes us from other hotels.
I hope you carry on enjoying your future stays with us and I look forward to seeing you again in June.
With Kind Regards
Joanna Garrett

Just returned from a three night stay at Fayreness Hotel where we had a super time. The staff were so friendly and obliging - nothing too much trouble. They happily organised a pre-breakfast pot of tea each morning, sent out for my newspaper when they were one short and and even searched for a bulb for my bedside table lamp when it had blown at 10.40pm. Our room was spacious and comfortable and had a large screen TV with Freeview. The setting of the hotel overlooking the sea is just wonderful and relaxing. We would definitely return again - hence we warmly recommend a stay here. The only two minor criticisms - the free wi fi was very slow and kept dropping out and the road approaching the hotel from Percy Road is absolutely terrible - full of pot holes and craters but this can easily be avoided by taking the parallel road to the hotel (obviously this is not the hotel's fault - not sure who owns that section of road and why it has not been made up?)

We stayed at this hotel for our parents wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were told there was going to be a dinner/dance that evening with a set menu to which we were welcome, as my mum has a number of food allergies we were a little worried, but our fears were unfounded, the Chef provided her with a delicious meal that could not be faulted. The whole evening was a great success and the band was excellent. Our rooms were large with a king-sized bed, flat screen television, lots of storage space and a modern clean bathroom; we had french windows onto a balcony and great sea views. This is a really good location with the beach just a couple of minutes walk away and good cliff top walks. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. All of the staff were efficient and friendly, they helped make this a very special weekend for our parents. We will definitely stay here again.

One word of warning which has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with the hotel – and I can only echo the comments of an earlier reviewer (to which we were very grateful) ignore your sat nav if it directs you down Percy Road to get to Marine Drive instead go down Kingsgate Avenue, the potholes along Marine Drive are really bad and this is no exaggeration – if you want further proof look on Google maps.

I wasn't really expecting much from this hotel as i knew it from old when it had been primarily a pub but we'd booked in as we were having a family celebration there. What a wonderful surprise!

It started at reception when we arrived 2 hours early. The housekeeper was immediately notified and asked to make up our room first. A short wait later and we were shown to our room by the manager, who was everything you'd want - polite, friendly and helpful.

The room itself was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in -spacious, in good decorative order, brilliant view and with lots of little touches that you'd like to think all hotels could provide - plenty of tea/coffee and space to make it, a proper hairdryer, boxes of tissues, nice toiletries, and even a big bowl of mints!

The bar/restaurant staff were all extremely helpful, actually knew something about the wine list and were able to advise on selection, and cheerfully assisted us with our preparations for our evening party, which we held in one of their function rooms.

Overall I got the impression that all the staff were well trained in customer care worked well as a team. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the area and will certainly be going back there myself.

We spent 3 days at the Fayrness hotel, 6 adults and 4 children (8-11).

The rooms where large, clean, well equiped and eveything worked. Hotel staff could not have neen more helpful.

Food was very good and lots of it. exceelnt sandy beach 2 mins out of door and great views across the bay.

We drove into Broadstairs in 15 mins and an extra delight is North Foreland golf club 5 mins away.

If you want a child friendly, clean, well appointed hotel for a short break, i think this is a great choice.

We spent two nights at the hotel in a large room with a small balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The evening meal in the main restaurant was great. The only downside was the noise from the bar that went on past 12 o'clock at night. The room had a superb flat screen TV.
