Be aware first that it's a pub style place. When we sat down, there was only one menu per table so we had to take from other tables - not a problem as the place was nearly empty at lunch on a Saturday. When we ordered, we found that they wouldn't let us keep a tab open so we could pay for it all when we ordered pudding - a minor issue but annoying. We ordered 2 grilled plaice and a cheese and bacon burger, both with chips. However, when they arrived the plaice were fried in batter. It's not a big deal again and we were ok with that but it was a bit of a big mistake. They apparently tasted alright. My burger was decent too - nothing special but an improvement on a McDonald's burger at least. The chips were pretty poor. Each meal was about £10 each and the portions were good.
For desert, I had a "chocolate flake cheesecake" for £5 which was a small slice of cheesecake with a bit of cream and a ridiculous tiny drizzle of chocolate sauce that was nowhere near enough and reminds me of some sort of attempt at "poshness". The cheesecake itself was very bland - barely tasted of chocolate and wasn't sweet enough. It barely tasted of anything. Very disappointing. In addition, they'd not bothered to wipe the table in between - maybe to be expected but it contributed to a poor atmosphere.
There are nice views if you sit the conservatory area at least. Otherwise it's pretty dingy. Ultimately it's not awful and if you went there you wouldn't be regretting it but given that you could go anywhere else I don't see the point.
