I've visited several times and have not been disappointed! A (very) extensive menu covering all tastes (fish, steaks, fajitas, curry, surf&turf, salads and vegetarian). The portion size is large! It is great value for money, staff always polite and great location overlooking the cliff. On a sunny day, the view is amazing whilst sat outside. Will definately be going in the future.

The service was friendly and the place quite informal, if a little tired. The crumbs on the floor were tired too, they never moved. But, it is a family friendly pub.
Food came quite quickly and in vast quantities to our eyes; too much in fact. The quality was reasonable compared to price, but the dishes a little uninspiring.
Would return there to fulfil a basic need to eat, but would not think it a huge treat.Unless you like a sea view, which is superb.

i've been a regular here for 6 or 7 years and they've always served good value pub grub. They do a nice steak and wine deal during the week which is good value.

The restaurant is starting to look a little old fashioned now and the service doesn't seem as friendly as it was only a dew months back.

The home cooked food seems to have been replaced with cheaper pre bought stuff and you can really taste the difference.

Still - it is in a great spot with beautiful views - just a little more attention to detail would transform this place.

I'm new to living in thanet, having moved here just before Christmas last year. Me and my partner enjoy going out for a good steak dinner however couldn't find anywhere that did one that we really enjoyed. A friend then recommended we try the Captain Digby, wow!! Finally found the place to go. We both ordered our steaks and it really was delicious!! Perfect. Also we had a stunning sea view to enjoy whilst we ate our meals, good service too. Digby, we will be back, very soon!!

A group of us went here for a family celebration. The staff were very accommodating, we got drinks in the bar first as we arrived earlier than our reservation. Children were entertained in the kid's play area.
There was so much choice of food, I didn't have a starter but had the scampi and chips for a main. It was huge for the price, and really tasty! Everyone commented on how good their food was, one member of the group said the pork belly he had was the best he'd ever had in a restaurant. The wide range of meals meant there was something for all tastes - from traditional to spicy etc.
Pudding was just the right size, not too big and presented really nicely.
The staff were great throughout, putting up with us changing our minds and constantly wanting drink refills! We didn't have a sea view from our table, I think perhaps because there were so many of us, but on the other hand we hadn't requested one on booking which I think many people do. It was a bit dingy where we were sat, but perhaps this is because they are more 'traditional pub' than modern restaurant.
There is a free car park and easy access into the pub.
Will definitely return next time am down that way!
