Once again, great service. We had a long lazy lunch outside on a warm sunny day. Staff so helpful and interested.Choice of drinks even better than previously with the addition of Weston's Perry; GORGEOUS! Food as big a choice as ever and so tasty.
Can't fault it.

Just spent two nights here. Fabulous location literally beside the river Wye, below the well known local landmark of Symonds Yat. The staff were, without exception, courteous , friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed excellent food on both occasions. ( as we were staying there, the staff had reserved a table for us in the restaurant prior to arrival, a nice touch as the restaurant gets very busy). The menu was varied and interesting, not the usual 'gourmet pub style' and was beautifully presented. Sensible portion sizes too. The bedroom was small but adequately furnished, although some of the underlying decoration was looking a little tired. However the river view was fantastic. Breakfast was Lovely, fresh fruit in abundance as well as a hearty full English.
This was a mini break , and the Saracens Head provided us with just what we needed...relaxing environment, congenial company and great food.

Room Tip: We had a standard double facing the river. Next time we will opt for a superior room, and hope it wi...

Not cheap but wonderful room (boat house superior rooms definitely the better option particularly if upgraded free of charge!).

Food really good but one or two of the staff surly and in one case extremely rude hence this venue lost out on a top rating. However if you fancy a short break in a wonderful setting considerably better than the sorry b&b's so abundant in the UK, this is for you!

Lots of great walks and if the weather permits go canoeing down the Wye - a treat for all nature lovers experienced or otherwise in messing about on boats!

Booked for a family lunch on Saturday. The pub is located on the river, and in a really beautiful location. We visited on a hot and sunny day, and the pub and surrounding area was very busy. The approach to the pub is down some narrow country lanes, which are at times, one track roads. Not for the faint hearted when it's busy, but I'm sure not a problem most times of the year. There is no parking for restaurant visitors at the pub, but some public car parks not far away which you have to pay to park on.
The menu is gastro-pub style with an equivalent price tag. The menu is not cheap, but the food was good quality, and for us was worth the money, it's not a place to go though, if you are looking for a cheaper end meal, there was very little on the menu for less than £10 other than a burger option. The pub has some great real ales on tap, as well as a good wine by the glass selection.
The service when we visited was a little hit and miss, but it was exceptionally busy and the staff did not stop throughout the whole of the lunch service. The waiting and bar staff were all friendly and helpful, so we put the service quality down to the number of visitors.
The area around the pub is beautiful, we didn't have time to explore on this visit, but would like to return to both the pub and to this area of Symonds Yat

Location ideal for relaxation or adventurous break. Food both morning and evening is top quality.
Rooms overlooking River Wye have glorious view of the breath taking scenery.
Large choice of local beer, cider and produce make this fantastic place to stay, cannot wait to try again.

Room Tip: Choose River view when booking as rooms limited

I arranged in January, to celebrate my 50th birthday at the Saracens as Ive been going there ( usually camping or walking) for so many years. We booked all the accommodation and had arranged a family meal for 29. It was simply brilliant! The food was excellent, and there were plenty of 'foodies' in the group! All meals were ordered before hand but came exactly as ordered, all on time and no compromise on quality despite the numbers. The accommodation was good, the attention to everyone in our group was kind, the location was beautiful, but mostly it was the staff attitude that will make all of us return. With family travelling from all over the country and from Sweden, it could not have been a better occasion. So a huge thank you to Chris, Katie and all the staff...I would really recommend a visit, stay and keep going back!

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with river views. Breakfasts were great whichever room you are in!

Had a family meal on a Friday night & it was excellent. Booked before hand & from the moment we arrived the service was excellent. Food was top quality for everyone & there was a great range of beers, ciders & wines that we slowly worked through ! Pub did get busy, but as we were seated we just enjoyed the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place, we were saying just down road at Forest View but this was our drinking & eating venue for our weekend in Symonds Yat.
