The house full in January for a 21st birthday celebration. Young and old. So welcoming, warm, everything around the house so well set out, great rooms, loads of things to do, fabulous setting, easy to be comfortable in, easy to organise, close to everything you need - loved it, and for the 21 year old, family and friends a time that will not be forgotten! Loved it!

“Beautiful place, excellant location.”

Due to the location of the property mobile service is very limited. Having had wifi advertised we arrived at the cottage with it not working. Neither was the cottages phone so to make a phone call we had to drive 10 minutes away from the cottage, had we not had two doctors in our entourage we would have been in a pickle, a minor head injury using the pool and without our doctors there calling for an ambulance was not possible.

So if you are booking call in advance to make sure the communication lines are open and working. Other than this the place was perfect and well kept. And we thank the owners for a wonderful weekend getaway.

Thanks.

Thank you for your review.
Unfortunately the Symonds Yat West area experienced problems with BT on the Friday of the arrival. We reported this immediately to BT (ref no VOL013-138264703945). BT informed us that they estimated the lines would be rectified on the Monday (but they did not put a guarantee on this). The broadband and line was finally rectified by BT two days later.

We apologise for this - however it was out of our control and BT were chased each day - however they were not quick.

We will certainly forward on any compensation to you that BT deems to offer us. We have opened a case with them.

Apart from this, it was lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Best wishes

“Wonderful Holiday”
Reviewed August 7, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We spent a week here as a family including grandparents, parents and grandchildren aged 12-19. The house is lovely with beautiful views over the river and valley and it's very well equipped and comfortable. The location is fantastic with good walks, pubs and activities such as canoeing within easy walking distance, and lots of days out which are an easy drive away. Getting the ferry across to the pub was a real highlight. We all enjoyed the terrace, garden and beautiful warm swimming pool. This was a perfect place for our week together and I would highly recommend it.

“Fantastic house in an amazing location!”

I hired this gorgeous house for a weekend walking holiday with friends. It was a fantastic place and ideal for our group of 7 (most of us like our own room!). Extremely well equipped, lovely furnishings, very comfortable beds and an amazing location! We swam in the pool each day to eliviate our aching limbs and it was like a warm bath. We walked both days from the house and loved countryside and especially the views from the rock opposite . Ate in the lovely Saracens Head one night, great food and very friendly staff. Made even more special as we took the small rope ferry both ways (2mins walk from the house) and it was a beautiful evening. Lots of great little touches, such as bird food supplies for the 2 bird tables (best bird was a grey wagtail!) and a lovely welcome basket of goodies. I'd thoroughly recommend Riversdale and hope to return soon! Just one word of warning..don't rely on your Sat NaV to find the house, do use Christina's very clear instructions! Two members of our party and the Sainsburys delivery man got rather lost!!

“Beautiful! ”

Every year a colleague from work books a little retreat at Symonds Yat. Fourteen of us have returned to this beautiful house multiple times and cannot wait to descend on the local area. It is a truly beautiful house set close to the river. It is wonderfully clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly wish for (included a fantastic swimming pool). The house has a warm, family feel to it and is ideal for families or groups of friends. This year some of us went for long runs along the river, others went across the river on the 'pulley ferry' to the local pub for lunch, some went for long walks and other bobbed around the swimming pool. Next year we are hoping to hire canoes and travel down the river. A truly relaxing, happy holiday let surrounded by picturesque scenes and the sound of the running river!

“Fantastic Easter break”

We had a brilliant week at riversdale lodge. Excellent accomodation for all the family, well equipped and homely! The owners made us very welcome with a lovely card and Easter egg hunt and really helped us with any queries!! The setting is Fantastic with riverside views and a lovely garden..walks straight from the door! There is plenty to do for everyone nearby with Goodrich castle, butterfly park, tintern abbey and cycling. The river was in full flood whilst we were there from the floods so the hand ferry was not operating so a few evening walks were had via the footbridge...all added to the fun!
We would love to return in the summer and would wholeheartedly recommend riversdale lodge! Thanks
