“Unbelievably Expensive”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We had 4 drinks. 1 pint of beer, 1 pint of Stowford Press and 2 bottles of a local cider - a staggering £21.25. My friend is not one to make a fuss so did not query it. However I would have thought that even the bar staff would have double checked and explained the cost. Having said that the staff were not particularly attentive, so much so that instead of 2 brie bloomers we got 2 brie and bacon bloomers! The only person who showed any concern and was most pleasant was the girl who delivered the food. Never again!

“Food ok, but no Sunday roast.”
Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

A great view of the river and nice food. But they don't do a Sunday roast. Otherwise a good place to sit by the river and watch the world go by.

“Picturesque”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Ate her on Monday and arrived early (At 11am for a 12.30 table!)- we had coffee and watched a learner canoe group and the ferry until food was available. This pub is in a beautiful location and our sat nav found it easily. There is a wide and interesting menu. Good vegetarian options. We chose fish platters, vegetarian burger and cheeseburgers and everything was well presented and very good. Staff are helpful and polite. We will certainly visit again.

“Dreadful”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

On arrival August 2013 at Ye Old Ferrie Inn, our family group of 10 were due to go on a day trip canoeing up the River Wye. We decided to visit this pub before hand to ask for advice on the area and the canoe centre. We also wanted to book a table for an evening meal for us all. We were greeted by the landlord who told us the pub was closed until 12. When we asked for advice he (very rudely) told us he was a pub and not a canoe centre, he then followed us to the door slamming it, then proceeded to lock it. He was so rude the group left saying they have never in all there years been spoken to in such a manner. I personally have never complained to any business even if service has not been satisfactory. However on this occasion I would like people to be aware of this gentlemans dreadful manner, which due to this he lost our custom for that day/night and week. I suggest you all to look at the other pubs within the area, we visited lots and had many lovely days and evenings where staff were most polite and gave excellent service which we will continue to use when visiting this beautiful part of this country in the future.

“Good food quickly devliered”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

I don't normally review restaurants unless they standout (in one way or other). However, i thought Ye Old Ferrie Inn was worthy of a mention.

We ate lunch there on a busy Saturday having done some canoeing. Great location looking out over the river, very pleasant real ale on tap and the food was excellent. We had a large group (~20 people) who all ordered food individually in couples. It came quickly, was of good quality and the staff were excellent.

I hadn't expected much more than 'standard tourist fare' but was so pleasantly surprised i decided to congratulate them publicly here!
