We went for food here on the saturday of the bank holiday weekend. We were NOT impressed to say the least. We were a party of 10 and some of us ordered the mixed grill for £13.95. What a disappointment. This comprised of 1 sausage, a small lamb chop, a very small piece of gammon and a smaller piece of steak, with this a few frozen chips a very small salad. My friend ordered a 14oz T bone steak? I've seen bigger lamb chops!!! We repeatedly asked to speak to somebody to complain (4 times), but nobody was willing to talk to us.
On the Sunday two of our party went back to complain because they actually paid twice by mistake, but they were met by a very aggressive and irate woman. To say the least will never visit this place again!!!

It never ceases to surprise me how many hotels and Inns in rural locations either have a very unfriendly attitude to dogs or charge a small fortune for allowing a dog to share your room. Anyway one of the key reasons for choosing this B&B was their positive response when I said we had an ageing staffy in tow. They have dogs of their own which helps.
Anyhow, the accommodation was good and the breakfasts substantial - a good excuse to forgo the dreadful cholesterol free diet I'm supposed to be following at the moment. Also had some great real ales on tap - the Butty Bach was excellent.
Really helpful advice was on hand and when we returned from a trip to the 3 Choirs Vineyard near Ledbury (recommended), a bucket of ice and glasses were laid on so that we could enjoy a bottle of chilled white - nice touch.
One drawback, if you are a sun worshipper and were staying this side of the river, is the fact that the opposite bank tends to get most of the sunshine as far as I can tell but, as most people are likely to be using the Wye Knot as a base, this is of little importance.

Room Tip: There are only 3 smallish rooms so no need to ask.

We had dinner in this pub on the first night of a camping holiday and booked in to the b&b the following day after a very wet and windy night in a tent! They saved our holiday! The pub was lovely with lots of friendly locals, the beer selection was wide and the food was excellent with lots of choice. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also spotless with a large walk-in shower. The breakfast was great and set us up for the day. Anne and Dave were very welcoming and friendly, as were the bar staff. The 3 night mid-week b&b deal was great value for money. I can think of nothing negative to say about it or our stay. We hope to go back!

Room Tip: Room at the front has lovely views

This pub is in a wonderful location - just off the main road but quietly situated and with lovely views down to the river. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Small number of bedrooms ensure individual attention at all times. Our double bedroom had fine views and was clean and well-appointed. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. Excellent attention to detail (eg quality biscuits provided with tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room.......)
Really good pub filled with locals (always a good sign) Food on the pub menu was varied and excellent in every way - piping hot and very tasty. The breakfast was particularly memorable - one of the very best we have had in a B and B - really quality local ingredients and beautifully cooked by the owner/chef.
Private veranda/balcony for residents was a great idea with pleasing views over the valley.
We can really recommend this pub/bed and breakfast. It was a pleasure to stay.

Room Tip: A room at the front guarantees lovely views.

Good clean, up to date accommodation. Views across the Wye valley. Handy for main road but set in a secluded spot. Good English breakfast with quality ingredients - none of your cheap bacon and sausages here. Good real ales and selection of other beers and ciders. Pub grub is good and sensibly priced. Handy if you are canoeing www.canoethewye.co.uk Welcoming and friendly landlord and landlady.
